Limiting size of jpg image ?

In PP, there are options to limit the file size while upload and I also saw some option to resize image if uploaded image size is bigger than the limit set in PP Options..

Now my question is , If I have set maz width and hight oof say 800, and user tries to upload the picture which is 1024*768 then what happens?

Does PP, resizes the pic and stores both the images (original big size and smaller resied) or does it only stores resized?

Ideally I want to set bigger limit for file upload by enabling ZIP, but I want picture size to be limited max hight or width of 800 and I do not want to store bigger size image.

Is this already happening ? or Can it be done?

Please help :)

It would only store the reszied photo and not the original too-large image.
