Better control super mods

Ok I’ve touched on this subject before and would like to elaborate if I may.
The moderators have next to no rights but Super moderators are treated like administrators in the admin CP if (like me) integrated with VB. I need to give my moderators much more control over the gallery and trust them explicitly, so therefore I will upgrade them all to Super moderators. However I cannot see any reason for them to use the following areas. In fact there is some pretty sensitive information contained in these areas that only the site operator should know. Like VB license details and so on.
Edit Settings
Administration

Is there a way that I can remove these from all but administrators please?

If you give some group admin powers then they will have admin powers.

If you wish moderators to moderate every category and every photo etc why not grant moderators global permission in admin settings of photopost. They wont have access to admin stuff but will be able to moderate moderator stuff globally instead of having to be setup to specific categories.

Hi Chuck, I've already set "Do you want moderators to have global rights?
Set this to NO if you want to assign moderators to specific categories" to yes.
I have a standard moderator account (default VB3 settings) and set up the usergroup with the following:
Admin Access? = No
Mod Access? = Yes
Allow Uploads? = Yes
Allow comments? = Yes
Require Moderation? = No
Allow edit own photos? = Yes
Allow edit own posts? = Yes
Allow albums?= Yes
Assign Albums to Cats? = Yes

And to make sure that the integration was working I refreshed the usergroup again.
But Still thier is no difference between super mods and mods. Mor importantly at the moment only Administrators can upload user albums.
As per my previous post. If a user uploads to his album and the moderator goes to approve it they can only the picture to a top level category... and so the picture ends up not in the intended users album but else where.
Now I've not altered the mods rights in VB, I'm using the standard templates for mods, super mods and administrators.
What do you think it coulsd be?

Oh yes I also tried to set up a moderator as a moderator in members galleries category... but it made no difference, the moderator was still unable to moderate members galleries.

we dont have super mods in photopost thats a vb only thing.

if a moderator has global rights he should be able to move it to any category. Only when moderators are mods of one category would they not have rights.

I I setup an account as moderator I can move a photo to another category.

Problem is though I dont beleieve moderators can moderate personal albums of users thats a admin only function so maybe thats your issue

If I go to approve and select photos in a members gallery under that option in admin my dropdown list most definately has all categories so mods can move to another category.

Yeah I'm beginning to think that I'm expecting more than the software is designed to do.
So my mods can't effectively approve uploads to personal albums because all they can see is top level categories. I guess the only way to allow them rights to do this is to make them admins.... and that leaves the admin and edit area exposed....

Well the difference here is categories and personal albums

personal albums are owned by users only.

Global mods can edit delete move pictures in categories.

Mods of certain cats can do all that to whatever cat they are assigned

Only admins can administer users personal albums kinda like they are the only ones who see the admin only stuff mods cant see.

OK... That clears that up. The problem with the setup at the moment is that mods can see the album upload and can approve but they effectively move the picture to a category... (not the intended location).
Perhaps this can be enhanced on future release.
OK, I'll have a go at hacking the admin and edit section out by user name... conditions and post to the mod corner if I'm successful.

Okay glad to answer. look in the catmoveopt in pp-inc.php its very easy to change things there although personally I would never allow mods access to users personal albums but thats just me.
