subscribe to a category
 
Hi, am I wrong in thinking that members can subscribe to comments within a category?
I was under the assumsion that they couldclick the Subscribe to Gallery link at the bottom of the chosen gallery and they will recieve emails about comments.
I can't seem to get this working.
Clicking on the individual photos and clicking Photo Options> Recieve email updatse works.

If I have misunderstood this then can I ask how members can subscribe to a category and get emails about comments.

Members subscribing to a category are notified of any photos or comments placed in that category.

This of course would require notifications to be turned on in admin as thats the master switch.

Thanks Chuck... All of that has been done. I'll take a closer look and see if the problem lies with spam filters of other client problems.

Are you recieving any emails from the system? maybe PHP mail is not working.

Yes emails are coming through as per normal... but only a small handful of members have tried to subscribe and they all share the same domain. I jus wanted to make sure that I was at least using Photopost in the expected way;)

yeah if its all the same domain then it sounds like an email issue on there end especially if you are recieving email.

Hi Chuck, I know this is a five month old thread but I'm still stuck with this.
As far as I can tell this is only affecting a small number of members as I mentioned before.
This is what happens:
User uploads a picture but does not automatically get notification by email that a comment has been made.
User comments on someone else's picture and they don't get notification by email that they have a reply.
User subscribes to a category and only gets notification of recent uploads but not about comments.
The only way to get comments notification for these users is to open an individual picture and choose from the photo options receive email updates and then the user will get comments by email.
The vast majority of members don't have a problem... only a select few.
I've had the domain investigated and have since moved them to a different domain.
Any ideas at all please.

Not really if its only a couple users I would suspect an email issue on there end if it works for everyone else and you.

I mean you HAVE TO subscribe to get emails about comments thats guaranteed either to the category or the ad.

So like I said its all about what are those few users forgetting to do or do that have a spam issue.
