Registered members and usergroups

Hi,

I experience some problems finding my way through Photopost, and any help on the following questions will be much appreciated:

1. When logging in as a registered member, and specifying a certain home page, a link with that name will appear under "profile".
Clicking on that link (e.g. homepage), the browser will navigate to www.mysite.com/homepage but will report an error since there is no such location.
What shall I set in order to enable this functionality?

2. As an administrator, how can I set more priviledges to various usergroups (e.g. select a different page layout, theme, background, fonts etc.)?

3. I am using SMF Forum in conjuction with Photopost, sharing the same data base but in member profile page I can't see the same personal picture
which is associated to each member in Forum. Is there any way to display it when the members are looking at their own profile in Photopost?

4. I have a few usergroupos defined, each having more or less priviledges and I would like to be able as admin to upgrade/downgrade members in certain situations.
How can I, as site administrator, manually move a member from one user group to another?

5. Is it possible to assign different maximum image sizes for various usergroups?

6. "Light box integration" is checked but I can't get it working. What else should be set in order to enable it?

Thank you!
Dan

1. Not clear on what your doing but if your editing templates and adding links or the like make sure to properly use full urls to files not relative links.

2. You cant. Usergroup permissions are not used to give different layouts.

3. Do you mean avatar? You would need to actually post a url and test login for an answer,

4. Your forum user management is where you administer users so that would be in SMF

5. You can not

6. Well what is not correct? what do you see?

1. Logged in as a member (newbie), and editing the Profile you have the option of adding a UserHomepage. After saving the Profile, the Homepage appears as a link to : http://www.mysite.com/userhomepage
Clicking on the link it gives an error 404 not found. It looks like it should create a folder (a subdomain) with the name Userhomepage. It does not work.
2. OK. Is it possible to have such features custom implemented by you and how much would that cost?
3. The user image (avatar) shows ok in SMF forum Profile but is a missing image symbol in PP Profile. How can I make it to show? See attached snaps.
4. There is no such option in SMF forum admin. The membergroups are set based on posting activity. I want to "upgrade" a user to a membergroup with more privileges in PP (not in SMF forum). Is that possible?
5. OK. Is it possible to have such features custom implemented by you and how much would that cost?
6. I see the picture opening in its own window and not within lightbox (when the image is greater than the admin set size limits).
Thanks, Dan

1. Logged in as a member (newbie), and editing the Profile you have the option of adding a UserHomepage. After saving the Profile, the Homepage appears as a link to : http://www.mysite.com/userhomepage

I am not sure what your trying to do but you need to put a full valid url in that entry. So for example my homepage might be....

PhotoPost PHP Photo Sharing Gallery with vBulletin Forum Integration

Hope that clarifies that

2. OK. Is it possible to have such features custom implemented by you and how much would that cost?

Honestly could not begin to say. You can send emails to chuck at photopost dot com but you would need to specify exactly what your after or more directly how your expecting things to work. Quotes can not be given without fully understanding those variables and estimating what time it would take. Custom work is done at the rate of $70/hr.

3. The user image (avatar) shows ok in SMF forum Profile but is a missing image symbol in PP Profile. How can I make it to show? See attached snaps.

Right click the missing avatar image what is the path? That itself will tell you without fail what your issue is. Most likely a wrong forum path. Without a link to your site we can not assist so we need to see the site.

4. There is no such option in SMF forum admin. The membergroups are set based on posting activity. I want to "upgrade" a user to a membergroup with more privileges in PP (not in SMF forum). Is that possible?

You just need to create some special group in the forum and move people there. User management is done within your forum because thats where your users come from. There are no real users in photopost because your integrated with the forum user table. After you move people in the forum to some special group you can go to your gallery admin click on edit usergroups do a resync usergroups thing to grab the new usergroup and then apply permissions as you wish.

5. OK. Is it possible to have such features custom implemented by you and how much would that cost?

See reply above previously sounds to me like your looking for extensive usergroup settings being modified

6. I see the picture opening in its own window and not within lightbox (when the image is greater than the admin set size limits).

The thresholds you set mean that to use lightbox the image must be under certain dimensions. Thus if it is over that then it uses the regular big popupwindow. So in your show photo options in admin try upping your max lightbox sizes to 1500 from the default 900. You might need restrict your max image sizes as well. Lightbox is not meant to show 2500x2500 images with that there java code.

1.a. Is it possible for members to have their own page / site ex: member 'dan' would have 'http://dan.livefolio.com' or 'http://livefolio.com/dan' ?
2. ok.
3. I still cannot find how to show the avatar for member 'dan' please try 'livefolio.com/lf/' , user: 'dan' , pass: ' dand' .
4. Have to try that...
5. ok
6. Can you give me an example for max image/lightbox sizes so I can see how it works? If you need the admin pass let me know where can I send you that.

Thanks, Dan

1.a. Is it possible for members to have their own page / site ex: member 'dan' would have 'http://dan.livefolio.com' or 'http://livefolio.com/dan' ?

There photos are here

Livefolio Photo Gallery

Now in the upcoming PP 7 with the new SEO the url might look something like this

- Harley Alley

3. I still cannot find how to show the avatar for member 'dan' please try 'livefolio.com/lf/' , user: 'dan' , pass: ' dand' .

well where does he have a showing avatar in the forum?

6. Can you give me an example for max image/lightbox sizes so I can see how it works?

Thanks Chuck,
1.a. When is the PP7 going to be released? Would have been nice to have only 'twofish' after the site's name, and not 'u(ser)34_twofish' (see HarleyAlley). If 'twofish' is unique then 'u34' is showing the same user.
3. This is the avatar of user 'dan' in the forum. See attachment:
6. Thanks. It works. For some reason thou, it does not show just the images of a certain member but all members and it's not showing all the images, it skips some.
Thanks, Dan

1. Can not say that depends when the developer is done with it

3. Well feel free to send server info to the contact us link. I would love to see whats the database stuff being returned as our avatar code shows this

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Basically your avatar code is printing out the first element although the avatar is empty for some reason.

Chuck, you sent me a reply to my SMF/avatar display problem in PP, after I sent you the ftp info. Thank you for that.
Still, the code sent, looks like it refers to vbulletin and not SMF. The avatar, as previously mentioned, is seen in SMF and not in PP. If you look at the link:
Livefolio Photo Display
and for that avatar image, you will see the link PP is looking for.
Thanks, Dan

The code I posted has nothing to do with vbulletin. Thats straight from our smf2.php file

Your avatar in the forum is this

http://www.livefolio.com/forum/avata...d/avatar_3.png

what would be interesting to know is what is the avatar information being stored in smf

So what is the entry for the actual user dan out of the members table avatar field?

LiveFolio Community - Index

Your $uavatar variable is empty

You could try this

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
change to this

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.

the smf2.php file is our integration file in the forums subdirectory of our product.

I would be more interested in what is actually stored in your actual avatar field in your smf members table to be able to really respond here.

Chuck,
I already sent you the ftp info to access the files on my host. Did you actually saw those?
The image uploaded is stored in the smf_attachments file in the smf database, if I remember right.
Thanks, Dan

I have not seen any ftp info etc.

If its stored in the attachments table then it would not exist like so I think. attachments are stored and displayed like so that I see but your not allowing those types of avatars

An Error Has Occurred!

I researched all our emails on livefolio details and see nothing

so what is in your avatars field in your members table?

You can send ftp info as well as url and login to see the database info.
