PP user db to Postnuke user db Just wondering if a fresh install of photopost using photopost's integrated user system can be converted to use Postnuke's user system w/out reinstalling the entire script. If anyone knows how to do this would appreciate any kind of instructions you can provide. Thanks. |
Not without writing an importer to move all your users into the PN database. |
Well I dont have any users in the PP user db..its a fresh install. I do however have a good number of PN users. Possible? |
If you are willing to start over with whatever you have in your PhotoPost gallery, then yes. PhotoPost uses userid's to identify owners of images. If those userid's don't match between the two systems then PhotoPost will not be able to identify who owns an image properly. |
ok cool...would you mind sharing with me what needs to be changed/updated in the pp admin cp to accomplish this? |
Simply convert the integration type in your photopost settings table with phpmyadmin or similar utility and find setting #41 and set it to postnuke. Also do not forget if you use any forum prefix on your postnuke tables to set #83 to this in your settings table. You will need to match up any cookie settings between both products as in cookie set to worldwide / cookie domain: .domain.com cookie prefix: if any must all match between the two. |
Ok ran into a little trouble here. On setting #41, there are two fields mentioning vBulletin. "varname" says vb3 and setting I changed to postnuke. What should I change the varname to? |
