Style Sheet Problems

I've upgraded my forum to VB 4.2.0 PL3

I'm running Photopost 8.22

The forum integration seems to be working fine, with the headers and footers showing up as expected. However, the style sheet doesn't seem to be working for the tables etc. The page is pretty much all blank white, without lines between the categories etc.

Is there some setting I'm overlooking?

Yes you have forgotten to do the vb4 plugins installation as per the upgrade/install instructions.

This information is included in the documentations folder of the downloaded code as our release announcements state. Alot has changed over the years since the initial release of vb4.

Our install instructions on our site have the info you need as well basically you need to create an xml plugin for your site with all pertinent data and install that xml in your vb product mananger.

Read the manual?!? I've been using this product for years, why would I...

Uh, err, well, yeah, when you read the manual and do what it says, it works just fine. Sorry 'bout that and thanks!

yes you are a long time user people like you definately need to read it because in the PP8 series alot has changed. In PP 8 series what was done in mods/hacks before are all standard concerning vb4 now. It has enabled our product to blend more clearly into the style than previous versions. With that come change in how things are done.

In a standalone photopost thats even more changes as all the stylesheets are new and templating. Users who where use to older versions have alot to contend with if they where using mods hacks template alterations etc. No old styles are compatible with the newer styles.

Everything was changed basically to bring things more up to date and totally xhtml css3 compliant as well as making the templating earlier to follow. We also added a plugin system in PP8 so that users can add in things without having to hack files.

Yes, I should have read it... I get in a hurry, and in this case, I'd upgraded to 8.22 a long time ago, but not VB4. So I overlooked the changes needed since it had been running fine.

You're definitely right about the integration. It's great, and it fits into the forum seamlessly. It finally looks like it's all one product, everything works together, very nice!

Off to upgrade another one, which may be more challenging...

yeah I did alot of work both in the standalone templating styling now almost 40 styles to choose from and the initial mods for vb4 which are all part of the product now have been totally reworked so indeed work that has definately paid off in the long run. Have fun with your next upgrade.
