Multiple problems...

Hi Chuck, for some odd reason if I enable
Photopost Featured Photos on Forumhome
I get an error message "I can not connect to Database" If I disable it the site works fine

I also get the same message now when trying to view a user profile.

Also for some reason the navbar points to /photopost/forums although integration is enabled and it should be domain/forums

The 2 config files are correct and I double checked the setting table in the database and that is fine as well.

Probally missing something obvious?

Have you read the install/upgrade documentation there is a whole section on the installation of the vb4 xml plugins.

Your plugins must be 777 permissions then you need to generate the xml plugin and then install it into vb4.

Basically that error tells me your plugins have not been installed correctly as the database details are in the xml plugin under the global variables plugin for photopost pro.

If you uninstall your plugins then redo them accordingly to the instructions your issues should be resolved.

Went back over config-inc.php, config-int.php to confirm it is all correct. phpMyAdmin and went back over the settings table agin as well.

I CHMOD the entire install directory to 777 just to make sure I did not miss anything.
I uninstalled the previous plugin
Generated the new one and imported it.
Unfortunatly nothing has changed.

Could there be a missing table back a few versions where I did not run the upgrade script that can cuase this?

What variables are in your global variables plugin in the photopost pro plugin in your plugin manager.

The error your reporting has nothing to do with your config files provided the gallery is installed correctly.

Like I said when we generate the plugin the global variables like photopost database username password and forum database username and password are all filled out.

You may need to submit info for me to look at your issue.

I run photopost on a separate database than my forum so I know it works fine. I developed the plugins. your database info is stored in the plugins.

Steve just send a url and admin login make sure the install directory for photopost is still there and the 3 xml files are 777 and I will look at what you have.

The details can be sent through the contact us link.

Plugin Manager > Product : PhotoPost Pro
If I do not disable Photopost Featured Photos on Forumhome
I get the same error message on forum home making the site unaccessable.

I have disabled ALL plugins except for PhotPost & Classifieds

Viewing any member profile still gives the "I can not connect to the database"
View Profile: MonsterCED - Monster Mayhem Discussion Board

If I disable Photopost I get a 500 error when viewing the same profile

However it seems this is a classifieds issue as all the above and I then disable classifieds I can see the profile. I have now re-enabled PhotoPost and disabled Classifieds and everything is working.

Time to go trouble shoot Classifieds and see why it went south as PhotoPost was the only thing that chnaged recently.

Will report back if I cant figure it out...

Reason I talked about mods or hacks is you had tons of them

I run my forum and our products the same as you. My photopost tables are in one database and the forum is in another. The username password for mysql is the same. We have the same exact setup except you have tons of hacks also installed.

The point I am making is the error your posting while I understand that enabling our plugin may cause an issue with another hack but the point being our application has database configuration stuff where we provide the database info. The error your posting is not coming from our application so we need to determine where it is coming from. That is why I suggested turning off every last mod except ours.

I do not know how you tested but I turned off all hacks except the PhotoPost Pro gallery plugins and they work fine. Your classifieds plugins look older than what we have in our code so maybe updating classifieds and redoing the plugins might help there. Our latest is 5.21

Yea, I looked at the member area... Will have to pay for the renewal and see if that helps. It seems to be Classifieds and something else conflicts as I can enable everything except Classifieds and the site works. It is only when I enable Classifieds that the problem comes up.

I'll let you know once I get the newest version installed and see if that resolves the issue or if I need more help.

Have a great evening and thank you again!
