Display Order Not Working

Any idea what might cause the display order function to not work? If I select a certain number of photos, or change the sort order, it doesn't do anything.
Which file controls this, so I can make sure I have modified something that would affect it?

My suggestion would be to use unaltered code. I would think the showgallery php and template files but can not say without seeing your actual issue and seeing if it is there for me.
