Moved domain - minor problem I moved my Photopost Pro to a new domain and it's all been working fine. Last night, however, overnight I received the following error about 600 times (as email, not in the browser). It's been running fine for several weeks in a protected directory. I just made it live yesterday, and now these/this error. Quote:

Sorry... I'm running 7.0.1 |
My suggestion would be to upgrade. |
I don't want to upgrade. Is this normal for 7.0.1? |
I would suspect this might be something that was updated in any of the numerous updates to the application. Your using a piece of software that was released 2.5 years ago. Upgrading would be the proper procedure here. |
It has to be something I've messed up in the domain move. I've operated a dedicated photo site for years using this version of Photopost. The domains are on the same server and nothing has been updated. It was working flawlessly on the old domain -- on the same server -- just 2 days ago before I shut it down to open it on the new domain. I don't like version 8. I need the gallery view on the index page and that can't be done in version 8 like it can in version 7. You can't help to at least point me in the right direction? |
It also just started when I removed the password protection on the directory it's in. I've been working with in a password protected directory for several weeks without issue... until I removed the password protection. |
I actually renewed my membership here so I could upgrade to 8. But not being able to have a gallery layout on my index page is a deal breaker, unfortunately. I think I may be on to something. I read a thread here about bots creating these kinds of errors for someone using version 8. After disallowing all bots as a test, I've not received these errors. Now I just need to find my original version 7 installation files and make sure I have the proper directories/files disallowed. |
Yeah. That didn't help. :( |
Right but you actually want the updated files so no issue happens. Like I beleive there are changes in the specific file that prevent that. It has been many years and the only course of action I know of is to upgrade. |
It seems odd that I didn't have this problem on the old domain... but I can't ask for your help and then ignore it. :) :: Maybe this should be a new thread, but if I upgrade to 8, is there any way to create an index page like I have now with version 7: Exclusive tennis photos. Tournament coverage. Tennis events. ATP and WTA players. - TalkAboutTennis.com Photo Site or am I pretty much stuck with the forum-type list index page? Because we don't use Photopost Pro as a photo sharing site but rather to show our own photos exclusively, version 8 doesn't seem to give us a good way to display our categories like we do in 7. |
Kirkus all I am saying is I do not see any issues with our present code. Your versions is several years old and I do not remember every issue with past versions that may have been present back then. The proper resolution to fix a bug would be to upgrade. Your using an old like 2003 original photopost category display. You can try installing version 8 and setting your display to forum style and try replacing your categories-forum template with this template http://www.photopost.com/forum/1300866-post11.html No support for that since it is a display we discontinued and few used. |
I totally understand what you're saying (I'm thick-headed but eventually it sinks in ;)). And I do appreciate your help. I always do. I'll give your latest suggestion a shot. And if that doesn't work I'll put on my big-boy pants and do the best I can with version 8. Seriously, though... thanks for all your help over the years. |
I have no doubt this might be a bug in that early version that was probally fixed in 7.02,7.03 etc You will like version 8 |
