table corruption

Chuck after upgrading, my categories have dissapeared after like 3 days, I pointed production to QA database and they came back. But I am still trying to figure out what is corrupted. I can list all records in categories. Is that the right table? i can export from QA to PROD if so. Need an answer fast if you can sir.

without knowing specifically what the issue is all I can do is guess.

You sure you actually ran all required upgrades. I have never heard of dissapearing categories.

You can restore categories from a backup sure but like I said you would want to first figure out what the issue is.

Given the time of day if you sent me info to look at things I may not get at it till tomorow.

Strangest thing chuck, I could run a select in mysql browser and get all the categories to return fine, i repaired , reindexed nothing worked. But i pointed production to QA database which was not old and a copy of production and everything worked again. So I just backed up that table and ran the script on production to recreate it. I have never seen a corrupt table, but it just seems weird to have happened days after I upgraded. Not really sure what the cause was, maybe just coincidence.

chalk it up to experience

Chuck still having issues with table corruption. I have the host provider checking for sql injection attacks but this time the pp_photos table had been modified to add numbers to the beginning of each file name in bigimages field. I was lucky to recover all my loss , but I have the site shut down for now until I find out what is going on. I have changed all database passwords and ftp passwords and this has happened again. I keep thinking its a bot or some type of attack but I did not have these issue until I upgraded. ANy ideas, this is getting old.

well I would suggest you check things as this is not coming from our software. Check your server for hackers files etc.
