Permissions randomly set to 640 This issue has me stumped. Running on NetworkSolutions shared hosting and using GD2. Vbulletin works great on ns, but this is a fresh hosting package as I want to run Photopost standalone. Install went without a hitch. Got rolling on configuring our layout and noticed that thumbnails only worked about half the time. Images always upload ok though. Checked over all folder/file permissions vigilantly and they are ok. here is the kicker... Thumbnails that fail upload ok but have permissions set to 640, while ones that work end up with 666. This is random, and can happen in the same directory. Could it be that GD2 is failing to write the file with correct permissions? I have no other issues with any other software I run on several ns hosts, including vbulletin and some of my own scripts. Thanks, Brad ps.... I posted here as all other threads are locked out. |
I would ask your webhost about the issue and make sure they have there server setup that the default permissions for a file being wrote be 644. We set permissions on a file on upload to 666. If the chmod does not work then the file will be written with the server permissions and that is your clincher. Your web host should be able to solve that server config issue. To obtain product support and read stuff here this should help you. http://www.photopost.com/forum/gener...uncements.html |
