Another layout issue PP8.0

I have noticed an issue with the layout after upgrading to PP8.0. On any screen size the index page is fine, as it is %. But if I click on any photo to view the medium size and info then on any screen less than 17" the layout forces the side to side scroll bar as the width is greater than the screen. However, on larger screens the width of showphoto remains proportionate to the index page. This did not happen with PP7.1.

I am not really sure what your trying to convey. The show photo screen is going to be whatever width it is going to be to convey that information. Just like a sausage that your stuffing do not overstuff.

What I mean is if your constricting the page to show in 800pixels but there is 1000pixels wide you will see scrollbars. You can not conpare the showphoto to the index. 7.1 was exactly the same as 8.0 I have seen people post about how to keep showphoto into there page designs from all versions.

I can only assume this is what your talking about so take that smaller browser same principle as you restricting a site in a table size. If that 17 inch monitor has a max resolution of 800 pixels wide and your trying to show 1000 pixels you will see a scrollbar.

Not much we can do about that other than say be mindful maybe have smaller mediums.

I understand what you say about screen resolutions, but this does not come into it. Before I upgraded everything fitted the laptop 15" screen with mediums 500 wide. After the upgrade, with the same mediums, the scroll bars kick in. There is a large area of space around the mediums, why.

That would be true sure because PhotoPost 8 more horizontal info. There is a 250 wide sidebar in the PP8 layout. There is no space around the medium other than the medium and the next previous images under the image. That is what is printed in that td. The other td is as I said the sidebar.
