Error on install

I get this after step 4...which makes no sense to me. Doesn't make a difference if I have internal reg on or off.

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql5.sock:3306' (2) in /homepages/43/d114531006/htdocs/rfg/media/install.php on line 1479
I cannot connect to the PhotoPost database.

how can it fail to connect after connecting earlier in the install?

Are both database sections on the photopost config file filled out with the proper information?

Hey Chuck!

Long time no chat.

The values are the same as what are entered for the PHPBB install, so they are definitely correct. The odd part is thats its failing at step 4, AFTER its set up all the tables. This means it must have connected succesfully once already right?

Thanks again

I really can not say without knowing more information.

As long as the database information is correct in both spots there should not be any issue. Sometimes a small typo is to blame.
