| Missing admin control panel link
Hello Chuck,
I sent you an e-mail but as I sent it, my host fixed the problem so please disregard it.
However, a new problem has appeared.
You guys installed PhotoPost for me some weeks ago and it worked wonderfully up until nine days ago when one morning it began looping the header and crashing browsers.
Long story short, nine days of wrangling with my host later, they narrowed down the problem and the photo gallery is now working again. My host said there was 5 installs of PhotoPost on the database (I don't know why this is!), so we picked the one that works best, and that is the one I am working from now.
The only problem is my admin control panel link has gone missing, and the "upload photos" link has also gone missing. There is just a "register" link present.
I followed the instructions on altering the vbulletin config.php for cookies, but that didn't seem to work.
Any suggestions or even a rummage around in my database would be gratefully received - after nine days I'm just looking forward to getting on with enjoying my PhotoPost gallery again.
Many thanks,
Kate Butcher

Kate hard to say without seeing the issue because you may not be using the install we did and maybe a flawed one you all tried to do. There should not be 5using galleries the true one should be the with all the photos.

Hi Chuck,
Thanks - I'll see if my host can revert to the latest install and remove the rest. I'll report back here with my findings....

I spoke with my host and it seems there is now only one install of PhotoPost on the database, and that is the one that is missing the admin CP link and upload link.
When I spoke with the supervisor she cycled through the 5 installs and the one that appears to work best was the one we picked. We then concluded that the other installs should be removed - only after that did I notice the missing links, however I wasn't expecting them to have actually removed the other installs, giving their ineptitude with this problem from start to finish.
So now I have two choices: ask you guys to reinstall it and incur a second installation fee, which I will have to try and charge to my host. Or secondly, reinstall it myself which I failed to do before relenting and asking you guys to do it properly!
What would you suggest? I'm not a happy bunny right now. |

Here's a wonderful update - I spoke with a guy named Dave at the billing department and he put my hosting renewal back to August - just like that! So the free hosting will cover the reinstallation fee.
Do I need to fax you a second installation agreement or can you just go back in, rip it to bits and start again?

Yes you would need to purchase an install and do whatever customer service instructs.

Thank you Chuck - you're a star.
I've e-mailed you the one change to the database password, but other than that everything should be the same. Feel free to set fire to the old install or chuck it out of the window. |

I don't mind - I screwed up the members albums on the album listings (tried to change the colour of the font in HTML and now can't change it back!) so if you want/need to do a fresh reinstall, that's fine by me. |

Thanks Chuck, it looks normal again. Eleven days of wrangling and at last I can get back to enjoying it - thank you so much for the quick reinstall. I'm one happy PhotoPost customer. |

Hi again Chuck!
When you view a gallery, the piccies aren't reducing to thumbnail size. Is it something I can fix or do you need to go back in and look at it? The admin login info is the same as the forum administrator login info I gave you on the installation info sheet.
Also, I can't find the image link information that you copy and paste. It used to be under each photo before my host mucked up the software, but now it doesn't seem to appear.

well as I sent in my initial email after install if you want me to check your admin settings you would need to provide an admin login to me. You had not included that so I could not verify your settings just reinstall.
You need to most likely set in global options in admin your image processor to GD2 and image resizing will work.

Ahh thanks Chuck, much better.
I'm still not seeing the image link info at the bottom of each photo? You know, the bits you copy and paste into forum posts to share the photos.
