Stand Alone Gallery

Well Chuck

I think I am ready to install my Photopost as a stand alone Gallery as apposed to intergrated as it is now, then just have a link from my Doll Forum over to Gallery. #1. Is this possible? and #2. Will I have control of all .css as a stand alone now that I am using 8.0.

Update! I have read the install thread and I understand that i just do a fresh install and dont click on intergration and I should be all set???

Jose the issue is sure you can do that but what is going to happen with your content ownership? To really reinstall as a standalone you need to actually import all the users. The users exist in your forum not the gallery. There is no script that is going to import your forum users into your gallery table thats going to be up to you to write such a script.

P.S. wanna write a script for hire $$. What if i created a seperate data base other than the one we are using now. Have them sign up on the stand alone. after that transfer all thumbs and .jpg to there member number folder from VB to Gallery stand alone. will taht work??

I have shut down my intergrated Photopost Gallery. I have installed the 8.0 fresh install with a new mysql database. Love it. Now a question, can I still use the Feature Photo plugin on the Vb index page if the Gallery is not intergrated. Thanks for all you do here at PP.

well yes and no. I suppose you could try and make a mod to show stuff on your forum as you probally dont want to use the whole mod for vb4 but I do not know why you would want to show stuff on your forum if your not connected to the forum. That would be confusing. I do not understand why you disconnected the integration. The only reason one usually does that is if they are getting rid of the forum all together.
