DB Config Issue?

Hello,

After installing the ap, I see there are no albums/photo's. I guess I'm missing a step somewhere. I've integrated with vb3. I may have made an error in the db configuration. I used my db info in both sections of the config-inc file, and probably shouldn't have. Other than that, when I go to photopost/index.php all appears to be good other than the missing pics. Hope this makes sense. Thank you.

Ken

I've messed with this issue and what I need to do now is uninstall this and do a reinstall. I've looked in my db and can not find any tables that begin with pp_ or anything that appears to belong to this program. Any ideas? Thanks.

After I identify which tables to delete (still can't identify them) and I do the install again, how do I import the photos from my vb albums to photopost? Thank you.

If your installing the gallery your not going to have pictures in the gallery until such time as you upload pictures. Pictures from other apps etc are not going to appear in your gallery just because you install it. I would suspect there is some confusion here on your part what to expect. When you installed your forum it does not come complete with content.

Thanks Chuck. I thought there was a way to import the vb galleries into this one. I guess this would mean that my users would have to reupload all their images in this ap? Also, how do I uninstall and reinstall? I can't find any ref to the photopost tables in my db. I tried looking in the forums and I see a ref indicating that the tables would be named pp_, but I don't see any such names. Again, thank you.

I should add here that the reason for the uninstall is because when I tried to reinstall, I ended up with errors indicating duplicate data. As you can tell, I don't have experience with databases...

It depends on what version of vbulletin you have. For example there is a beta importer you can try if your using vbulletin 3 and trying to import vb album pics but that would not be part the install.

BETA: vBulletin Albums -> PRO Importer

That should help if using vb3

Thank you Chuck. I'll give that a try. I'm running vb3.8.2. The only other issue I have is that I can't identify the Photopost tables in my MySQL db. I can see the classifieds no problem. Is there a location on these forums or elsewhere that gives the table names created during install? I didn't notice one, but in the meantime I'll keep looking. As I mentioned previously, I duplicated the tables on a reinstall, which threw up a bunch of errors. Nothing like learning through trial and error, seems to create more lasting lessons learned. Thanks again.

well the photopost tables would be whatever tables in the database you specified with the mysql table prefix you specified on install. By default it would be pp_

I used the default install, however, none of the tables are visible in the db. I attempted a reinstall (didn't delete the previous, couldn't see them anyway) and the errors indicated duplicate tables prefixed with pp_. I just don't understand why I don't see them in the list of tables. I'd really like to get this install up and running. A year or so ago I installed the classifieds and it went very smoothly with excellent vb integration. This one has me stumped. Thank you!

well the tables would definately be in whatever database with whatever prefix your installing to so I would suspect your not looking in the right place but at any rate thats really something your host would need to answer. Your gallery is up and operational so all is well if you have it installed.

Actually, the admins don't see the tables either. With the default settings, I expect to see the pp_ prefix. Where on this site/forum can I find a list of the installed tables for this ap? Thank you.

Please disregard the question, I see the info in the Sticky. And I thought I read them all...

Just to make sure, once I get my db straightened out, I have one mysql db. The photopost db and user db in the config are the same, correct? That's how my original installation was done. Again, thanks for all your assistance and patience. I've actually learned quite a bit and a few things I wasn't expecting to learn. It's all good...

Your photopost database would be listed in your config file it can be the same or different than your forums.

Like I said what types list in your database would be a hosting thing but I would suspect if you do not see them your looking in the wrong place.

Hello Chuck,
I did a reinstall. I used a pph_ prefix for the tables. The install did not turn up any errors. However, I cannot access photopost/ or photopost/adm-index.php. The page does not come up. The tables are not visible in my list of tables.
My MySQL database is on a separate server than my forums. Rather than use localhost, should I use the ip number for the db server? I know that my vb config file uses localhost and a port number. I've come to the end of all I can do now to get this working. I've been over the -inc and -int files numerous times and cannot see any path errors, etc. Thank you.

Also, I get this error when attempting to access adm-index.php:
The requested URL /bulletinboard/photopost/login.php was not found on this server.

When I input the /photopost/adm-index.php into my browser, my login page comes up. When I enter my username/password, I get the error message mentioned above. It makes some sense I guess because in the /photopost directory there is no login.php. It isn't in the photopost download.

I would use the correct database information correct so if its an IP then yes use that.

There is no error message above so I can not comment. Feel free to post a url and test login so we can see what you see.

Hello Chuck,
The error message is in the second paragraph:
The requested URL /bulletinboard/photopost/login.php was not found on this server. When I go to originalinfidelsmc.com/bulletinboard/photopost/adm-index.php, I get the above.
When trying to access /adm-index.php, I get my normal login screen for my board, which I expect, after the login, I get the above error. I'm confused for two reasons, first, I've already logged in, and secondly, there is no login.php in the photopost directory. I'd be happy to provide you with a test account via pm or email. I don't want to post that info in an open forum for security reasons. Thanks for all your patience and assistance.
Ken

I believe I have the problem solved. Found a thread dated 2005 wherein you indicated to edit the STANDARD ERROR template in VB. I put in the full url for the form action, and now when I browse to /photopost/adm-index.php, I pull up the admin panel. I'll see how the rest of this goes. Thanks Chuck.

Chuck: I just copied all this over to the vBulletin Importer support section where it belongs. Thank you for your assistance on the above, it's much appreciated. Now I just have to figure out the Importer...

Okay your issue is with some importer well it would seem that it is a data issue but the question would still be the same in that new post.

Not sure what you mean here. I finally got into the adm-index.php and configured the app. I just posted in the other section to figure out what I might be doing incorrectly with the import of photo to photopost. Thank you.
