Pictures not showing random
 

I am running a photo contest and just enabled the votes. I have the display order set to "random" for the category, but the photos are not displaying randomly. Since there are over 150 entries in the contest, it seems as though the pictures at the top are getting the most amount of votes. How do I resolve this?

the sort when set to contest is hard coded to the contest sort not random.

How are the pictures sorted in "contest sort"?
