I was just going to write you about that, but the wrong download was only installed last night and I still had the blank pages before that and broken links. I wish the version that I needed to download would have been clarified because frankly, it would have saved myself and my coder about 12 hours and that's not right. Hopefully this nightmare will end soon. Since you've originally installed the software, nothing has worked right so there is some responsibility here on your behalf.
Chuck, you're very good at what you do or else you wouldn't be doing it, but you need to keep in mind that the majority of us here are not inside your brain nor speak your language, and you need to get to layman's terms when you're offering customer service as much as possible so we can understand what you're saying and hold our hands. In the long run, it will save you a tremendous amount of time, believe it or not, so people don't have to come back repeatedly for clarification.
Hear me out. The first time I substituted for kindergarten, I asked the kids if they needed to use the restroom. I had 30 eyes looking at me like I was from another planet. I then rephrased it to ask them if they needed to go to the ladies room or men's room. They still keep staring at me like I'm crazy. I then asked them if they needed to go potty, all 15 kids all raise their hands. If I had asked them if they needed to go potty first on their level, we wouldn't have gone through the deer in the headlights scenario.
My coder didn't do anything wrong here. I downloaded the wrong version and sent it to him. Now he's up with a very ill wife all night long and maybe not on top of his game as he always is, but you still didn't tell me which version to download and while there is some personal responsibility involved, it is up to you to make sure that your customers are doing what they need to do and if that takes a few more minutes to post, then do it. If not, you get a glimpse of our ongoing relationship with one disaster after another, which your other members here at the boards read when doing a search. Take that extra minute for customer service and like I said earlier, you'd be amazed at how much your personal workload would cut down.
Teach us while you're explaining to us our questions and problems. That's the only way we will learn and you want us to learn our product to help others, which would also cut down on your workload, as well as referrals to others about your excellent customer service, etc.
Now, once my coder fixes everything, how do I get rid of that gawd awful random photo, most popular, etc., stuff? I hate it. Remember that I'm trying to have my
personal gallery just like it is at SCS and my
gallery homepage like theirs too, as well as when you go to look at the
general gallery and shown are the pictures uploaded from today.
I know Splitcoast runs an older version of PP and their gallery is heavily customized, but I can get something close to that which looks nice and is user friendly, and that is my ultimate goal and I'd like you to help me with that.
