Login succesful but still not logged in

Hi there,

I did a major change with PP (latest version) and my forum because my site had to change to a new server (nerw verion of PHP, MySQL and Apache). My old forum-script (DCF+) does not work on my new server, so I changed to VB 3.8.5.

Impex did the trick and after that I changed (with the use of importedid):
pp_comments, pp_favorites, pp_laston, pp_notify and pp_photos.
Also I updated pp_usergroups to make sure permissions are ok.

Everything *seems* to work fine, but when I login on PP, I get the message 'Login succesful' and get redirected to the mainpage of PP without being logged in. Same happens when I try to login directly at the CP with an administrator account. Any clues what might go wrong here?

Interesting detail: when I have tried to log in at PP I have to delete all cookies before being able to log in at VB, because it simply keeps throwing back the login form...

Any help/tips would be appreciated!

Cookies and Login Problems!!

Have you read this cookie tutorial?

If the application has been reinstalled to properly integrate with vb then you should be fine. I would suspect your cookies are misaligned.

Hi Chuck,

That's the first thing I did. I checked and double checked the cookie-settings, they are correct (/, bb, .hiking-site.nl). Any sugggestions?

Not without a url and test login to see how cookies are created

You also noted that the proper vb license number has to be entered in our config file for authentication to match?

Sorry I do not register on people's sites simply because it adds to an already large mass of spam email with the number of people I deal with nor do I do PM's as that gets out of hand real easy.
