Do I need the htaccess file?

Hi,

vb4.02 and pppro7.1

Do I need to install the htaccess file?

I saw in the upgrade docs that it seemed to say only if using SEO - however I also think I saw a message on here where someone had something not working and they seeemed to be told to make sure that file was in place.

So, does it need to be in place for all sites, or just those running with SEO selected?

The htaccess needs to be in place for those using SEO to my knowledge. If you dont use SEO there should be no need for the mod rewrite declarations.

No problem glad to assist although I will say I personally see no reason anyone would not want to use the SEO.
