Error after Step 4: "I cannot connect to the Users database"

I'm receiving: I cannot connect to the Users database after I click on Configure Photopost on step 4.

Any ideas? I'm running vbulletin 4.0.1, IIS6.

Jesh

edit: user error, typo'd on password, too much coffee, got the shakes

This error would suggest when you setup the config portion of install that you have not correctly placed your vbulletin database settings under the user database portion of the config on install.

Try rerunning install and correct this.

Ok, I typo'd the info on this one. But now when I try to log into adm-index.php, it won't accept my username I use on vbulletin? Am I just that wired on coffee I can't think straight, or am I missing something?

If you have correctly installed the application to integrate with vb and input all the correct info and customer number where asked etc you should be working.

what is the url?

A community photo gallery - My Photo Gallery

I did not see a spot to enter a customer number or anything... I'm on vB4.

well on the initial config screen is where we ask for the vb license number not customer number.

I see you also did not install it to use your vb header footer style any reason why?

I'm running Vb 4. The options show for vB3 and vB2 so I figured they were for those only. Anyhow, that part is fixed.

Could you tell me where I specify who has permissions as a Photo Post admin? I receive "You are not a valid administrator or moderator!" when accessing adm-index.php.

Thanks for all the help.

Greg

Make sure when you install the program you use a valid main admin usergroup 6 as if you properly install admins in usergroup 6 the main vb admin group will be admins. You then set usergroups options in our program under the admin => edit usergroups in our programs admin.

Hmmm. I didn't change our admin group, and checked the id, it is indeed 6. But I still receive the message I am not an admin when going to url Login - My Photo Gallery

Any other ideas? Is there any permissions in the vBulletin admincp that needs to be changed?

Thanks for the patience,

Jesh

p.s looks like there are other issues, some graphics missing, tabs are highlighting strange... paths all seem right in the config...

Jesh if you get not an admin then you have not installed the application correctly.

put the install file back on the server and let me see what you have.

well the first thing I see which is ODD is under user database stuff on install where you normally put your vb database settings you have the database name of photopost.

Therefore I would suggest you reinstall and put the proper true information where asked on each portion of install and you should be fine.

Wow I am in just complete idiot mode today, so should this work:

User Database Host (enter same info as above if not integrating with a third party forum) : localhost
User Database Name: uscoininfoforum <-this is what the DB is named
User Database User: root
User Database Password:: <rootpassword>

Progress.... is recognizing me as a user, saying "Welcome, Jesh" but still can not access adm-index.php.

Sorry for all the headache Chuck, between all the coffee this morning, the programming I did this afternoon, and the wine tonight, I think my brain is dead.

well you should drop your classifieds cp_usergroups table and then reinstall because if you installed incorrectly you may have groups messed up in there.

I ran through install once go ahead and try it one more time.

Nope, still showing not an admin on adm-index.php

I'm going to call it a night. Will try a completely fresh install on Monday and let you know.
