| Missing Images/Server Move Main Index - Digi Scraps Drive In Gallery
I moved servers a couple days ago when you go to my gallery at www.digiscrapsdrivin.com/gallery you will see that all the thumbnail and uploaded images are missing. I have verified that they are still on the server at /gallery/data/.
If you go to Digi Scraps Drive In Gallery you can see that this new layout posted shows not only the img but the thumbnail and seems to be working correctly. I have NO idea why my old images are not showing.
I updated the paths in these separate sections of the admin:
Edit Config
Edit Integration
Global Options
Storage Options
I did take a look at this tutorial but I still think I'm missing something. How to Move Servers and/or Change Directories
What I find weird is that all the new images that are uploaded using the new server are showing up w/ a thumbnail but no thumb nails are showing on the main gallery page.
I'm at a loss for the next step. I sent my server company an ticket on this issue and referred them to the tutorial and here is what he responded. I'm not sure if this helps. Quote:
I don't see any missing steps, but when I try to log into your gallery software I see it is redirecting to profile.php which is missing on your server here and it is missing on your old server: http://www.digiscrapsdrivein.com/gal...ile.php?do=dst
File listing from your server here:
[root@host gallery]# hostname
host.digiscrapsdrivein.com
[root@host gallery]# pwd
/home/digiscra/public_html/gallery
[root@host gallery]# ls -la profile*
ls: profile*: No such file or directory
[root@host gallery]#
Directory listing from your old server:
[root@u15352506 gallery]# hostname
u15352506.onlinehome-server.com
[root@u15352506 gallery]# pwd
/var/www/vhosts/digiscrapsdrivein.com/httpdocs/gallery
[root@u15352506 gallery]# ls -la profile*
ls: profile*: No such file or directory
[root@u15352506 gallery]#

I am not seeing any missing images.
As long as you have moved all images to the new server and the global options and storage options data url and data server path are correct you should see images.

If you'll look you'll see that each column gives you the number of photos in that album but if you click on that album you will not see those images. Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
and to make sure you aren't seeing the old gallery you should be hitting my site on an IP that starts w/ 208.

where you have photos it has photos. Your missing photos from where you moved servers and did not move all your photos so then I am going to assume you tried running a scan database to rebuild thumbnails and it deleted photos it could not find because they did not exist on the new server and this is what your left with.
Only way to resolve your issue is to make sure you upload all the data directory from the old server and restore a backup of the photos table and then check things out.
Obviously all the photos from the old server did not make it to the new server.

When I go to my new server to the gallery and sub folder data, there are a bunch of files w/ numbers in there and if I open those files they are full of images from the gallery. So all my photos did make it over its just not reading them.
The photos you see are all the photos added since the new server.
How would I go about rebuilding? Is there anything in PhotoPost that will tell it to look for missing photos in a certain directory?

well if you did not correct your server paths as noted in the document I linked and you ran the scan database thing you deleted your photos. You can try restoring a backup of the photos table.

One more thing.. I did run a Scan Database for Missing Thumbnails BEFORE I found the Storage Options link and corrected the path. The reason I did that was because I had images but no thumbnails. I however didn't realize the reason I had images was because it was pulling it from the old server. So when I ran that database the red X thumbnails did disappear. But the images were still there until I corrected the path in Storage Options.
Should I run a database scan?

Right but the error you see is ABSOLUTE. BLINKIE GALLERY - Digi Scraps Drive In Gallery
It doesnt matter what is on disk. Your mysql entries are not in the photos table. The reason this happens is one of two things.
1. You moved servers updated your paths correctly but did not transfer all files and you can a scan database rebuild thumbs it deletes images it can not find and rebuild
2. You moved servers moved all your files but did not update your server paths correctly and ran a scan database.
Now you could have had wrong permissions on some directories which also could prevent the program from reading files etc.
The solution is only what I posted. Restore a backup of your photos table making sure your paths are right and the data directory is 777 permissions at every level. That is also ensure you have all the files from the old server.
Then you should be fine.

I contacted my server company and here is what he told me. I just need to know if I need to run another database scan, and if so what all options do I check? Quote: |
The "photos" table in the digiscra_vbulletin database contains 56 rows, which seems too low. I copy the database over from the old server and compare these tables, please stand by.
| Quote: |
The pp_photos table on the old server contains 3232 rows. I have replaced the table on your server with a fresh copy I just copied over and it looks like the pictures are showing up. Please check and let me know, I can revert this change if needed.
| The photos he is seeing are new ones uploaded to the gallery not the old ones.

Your photopost does not have 3232 rows so you really sure your connected to the right database etc.
Your photopost as your showing us has about what 500 photos
You dont want to do anything with scan database till you track your issue down in your configuration
Your telling me you have correctly moved your database and files but you have not updated your config info apparently.
What you need to do is make sure your host copies over a backup of the photos table that is ACCURATE into the database and tables your using for this install.
You might want to check your config files and ensure you have the proper information in there especially the correct database info. BLINKIE GALLERY - Digi Scraps Drive In Gallery
Because for instance if the photos exist and your host imports a clean photos table entries with all the photos in the proper database then the 23 photos in that gallery would appear but they are not there.

Based on reading the ticket and the night shifts actions, they have copied over the files and the database in full from your other server. I would just tell the developer that without specifics on what is needed to fix the problem we can not move forward.
| Chuck who can I contact to come in my site, take a look and fix the problem?

Well you can purchase an install if you wish but from what I see I would suggest your not connecting to the correct database in your config settings for photopost. This is where I would suggest you look at.
maybe there is confusion on what the actual correct database is. I would suggest you have your host what database settings they are using to connect to that database and make sure they match what is in your config-inc.php file.
Clearly you are not connecting to the database that has 3200 photos in it.

Chuck I'm hoping this is a little more info for you to spark what direction I might go next. Quote:
Hello Jaime,
I am sorry to see that your gallery is still not working. The database used by the gallery and the forum software is "digiscra_vbulletin". This database is located in /var/lib/mysql, but the actual location is not important, as it's not accessed directly. What does matter are your database connection settings. I have verified them earlier, they are correct:
$database="digiscra_vbulletin";
$mysql_user="digiscra_master";
$mysql_password="a9h4v9clnGQC";
$host_bb="localhost";
$pp_db_prefix = "pp_";
These are declared in /home/digiscra/public_html/gallery/config-inc.php. My experience with Photo Post is limited to troubleshooting the problems with your gallery, but I am fairly confident that the problem is related to the pp_photos table. The table currently has 86 rows, while the same table on the previous server has over 32000 rows. The database was copied correctly during the migration and I personally copied this particular table over yesterday (as indicated in my response dated 16 Jan 2010 01:36 AM) CST), yet these rows were somehow truncated. This must have been done by the Photo Post software somehow.
From what I see the pictures are not kept in the database, but on the file system, in /home/digiscra/public_html/gallery/data. This directory is occupying 323MB on the new server and 319MB on the old server, which indicates some new pictures were stored in that directory after the migration. At this point, it may also be worth checking if resetting the data directory's permissions to 777 would help. This would require changing the PHP handler to DSO.
Please consult PP support and let me know how you would like to proceed.

Not really any help there other than to confirm what I have said multiple times over. Your photos table must be restored and make sure its repaired whatever. Those 32000 rows are not going to truncate from our program.
I mean you need to find out what mysql issue your having. Your guy said he has restored the database several times have you seen any evidence of this? Anything? Is there any actions you have done to truncate that table. For instance if everytime he restores the database and you see missing thumbs and run a scan database rebuild thumbs your truncating the database if files are not being found.
so really who is truncating the database

But now I have the thumbnail issue. And I did loose all images naturally from the past 4 days which is SO much better then the past 3 months.
Please advise on the next step. I promise not to do anything till I hear from you |

well lets try and diagnose that see if its a paths issue or what memories3 - Digi Scraps Drive In Gallery
this is the main image it is looking for http://www.digiscrapsdrivein.com/gal.../memories3.jpg
The image just doesnt exist but that may be because of its a new image lets try another Project 365 - Digi Scraps Drive In Gallery http://www.digiscrapsdrivein.com/gal...Project365.jpg
The thumbnail exists so I would think you have a path issue
obviously here several times you where told the photos table was imported but it was not now it is
My suggestion is to verify your data and uploads paths are correct in global options. Then go to storage options hit revert and save twice to load the correct path
To see what your true path is you can view phpinfo in admin panel
if you send me a url and admin login through the contact us link I can take a peek but this is what your issue looks like to me
