Install of PhotoPost Pro

I read thru the installation instructions, Uploaded the directory to my website, and started the install.php file. This pulled up the install.php file in Wordpad. The instructions led me to believe that it would take me to the config-inc.php file to make the necessary changes. I am not sure where to go from here.

Does your site conform to the requirements to run the software?

If PHP scripting is enabled on your webserver then the file should not be downloaded from your site it will run.

Yes it does. I am currently running VBulletin 3.8.1. I have uploaded the Photopost directory into the root directory of the site. Does it need to be in the vbulletin directory instead? I admit I am not very knowledgable in this area.

As background my host is running PHP 5, and Mysql5. The server is a shared host, and I am leasing space.

have you removed the .NEW extentions off the config files?

Do you have a url?

Ok, I figured out the problem. For some reason when I renamed both config files they still showed as file type NEW. Even though the .NEW suffix was gone it was still reading them as a "New" file type. I deleted, started over edited the files in Notepad, and was able to get the install.php to run. I then reran the install.php, and input what I thought was the correct info. I proceeded thru the steps, and it found the mogrify file. I then got this message when I clicked on proceed to next step:

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) in /home/.quencher/**user**/**myurl**/photopost623/install.php on line 570
I cannot connect to the PhotoPost MySQL server. [host:$host][mysql_user:$mysql_user][mysql_password:$mysql_password]. Check your config-inc.php for the correct settings and rerun.

I used my existing VBulletin database for both the Photopost database and the User database. Is this incorrect?

If you entered all the correct mysql data from vbulletin in both places you should be able to connect yes. You entered everything right host database name username and password?

One last question. Now that I have it installed, how do I direct my vbulletin forum to it?

You would edit your vbulletin navbar and place a link to the gallery would be best. There is also a photo block plugin you can install. Instructions for that are stickied in the mod forums.

That link gives me this message, so apparently I am still doing something incorrect.

Warning: chdir() [function.chdir]: No such file or directory (errno 2) in /home/.quencher/**user**/**myurl**/photopost623/header-inc.php on line 47

Warning: require(./global.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/.quencher/**user**/**myurl**/photopost623/header-inc.php on line 48

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required './global.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php5/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/.quencher/**user**/**myurl**/photopost623/header-inc.php on line 48

Does the photopost directory need to be in the same root directory as the forums directory?

Ok, I got that cleared up. If I want the galleries to appear as one of the forum, do I have to add it as a pluggin. I tried creating a forum and putting the gallery url in as a forum link, and it does not work.
