"Ubnormal" Cannot Connect issue

Using Photopost Pro latest "6.23" and Vbulletin 3.8.4 patch 1

When I get to stage 3 I get this error :

I cannot connect to the PhotoPost MySQL server. [host:$host][mysql_user:$mysql_user][mysql_password:$mysql_password]. Check your config-inc.php for the correct settings and rerun.

Troubleshooting Steps :

1. Followed instructions for all permissions. They are correct according to your instructions.

2. Mysql username and password are correct. Copy pasted from the values in the config file and connected instantly into the mysql server.
Database also exists with the correct permissions

3. All services on the server are running without any problem. Vbulletin for example. I was even able to install other php apps.

4. Apache and mysqld logs do not show any errors at all !

You sure all database info is correct host username password etc. If your copying pasting your not copying erroneous spaces?

that error is pretty absolute it is saying the info is wrong to connect to mysql.
