| Photopost and vB 4.0
How are the changes w/ 4.0 going to affect Photopost and the integrations that many of us have between the two? We have asked vB and they have point blankly told us that we need to ask you.

Though they are only in Alpha stages, they are forcing folks to pre-order now (and only til the end of October 30) if we want a $160 discount... which is a big issue in regards to knowing if it's compatible or not. From what I've read, Beta came out some time ago... which is really kind of unfortunately that they didn't look to other developers who integrate with them as being priority. Doesn't sound like they have much of a relationship with you guys, and that's unfortunate.

Beta comes after Alpha FYI.
So no beta has come out yet. As stated we are on the list of beta developers and should then be able to look at their new code.
As always our policy has never changed. Meaning that with any forum we support we will try our best to support if possible any new code branch by the time they reach the GOLD(final) release.
vbulletin really does not have much of a relationship with anyone to my knowledge. They have been very tight lipped about there new product or products especially after the flack they recieved after leaking news on there new product policies and pricing months ago. That caused alot of upset to there customers. Since they are where bought out by Internet Brands sometime ago alot of there policies have changed as well as personnel. They are in a key transition I think and alot is expected from them by there customers because of all this.
Remember your not going to be able to get vbulletin till they release a gold release. They are not doing public betas anymore from what I read so there should be no affect to you in any regards. Provided we are given a beta copy we should support vb 4.0 when they are final.

We have an open line of communication with vBulletin; they have as much interest in us supporting our customers as we do. Once they have code available for testing, we are a part of that and will work to ensure we are compatible.

I would anticipatee Photopost Raw would be easier to integrate with 4.0? To you foresee or are you prepared to drop VBGallery due to the enormous template issues involved? I hate to say it, but I "downgraded" to vbGallery a while back as I found it much easier and more compatible for my members. I suppose it wouldn't be too difficult to reupgrade to PhotoPost however.

No, we have no intention of dropping the vBGallery product. Our layouts will continue to work even if vB changes their templates.

| Good work!!!
I want to say thanks to Chuck and Michael for the work to get photopost working with vbulletin 4.0.
They have spend a lot of time the last days for this and I appreciate that a lot.
This is what they call really good and fast support.

Thanks my friend. Its been a long two weeks for me getting 3 of our 4 Products ready. Michael still has his hands full though because he is doing vbGallery which will require quite alot of work. Obviously this is just the beginning. Its going to be quite busy around here as we learn there new templating system etc and the fact we are going to have basically every application we have in a beta stage at the same time. Right now I am actually looking into the new templating system and figuring out the new way to merge templates for plugins.

I installed PP7.
Integrated it with my v4 test site. Didn't test it very much, but it looks fine.
Do I need to do anything with the files /vb4enhanced ?
I see in the config section there are selections for vb2 and vb3. Nothing for vb4.
