Updating my gallery

Hello all,

I just got the announcement that PhotoPost Pro has been updated to 6.22.

I have NO idea how to update my gallery... in fact, I paid for Installation and Chuck was kind enough to do that for me.

Are there EASY to understand instructions on what I need to do?

Heck,I have no idea how to even find my version!

Thanks much!

Ted

Your version is listed in the admin statistics.

Upgrade instructions are included in the documentations folder.

Basically you upload all files except the config files install file and run upgrade.php and select the upgrades you need to run if any depending on your version.

Chuck, thanks so much for getting back to me!

I think that makes sense to me...so you must have done a good job explaining it! LOL! Not much makes sense to me!

How do I "run upgrade.php"? Do I just enter in my browser:

http://www.mysite.com/gallery/upgrade.php ?

Or is there a different way?

Yes thats what you do and select which upgrades you need for example if you have 6.1 you run the 6.1 to 6.2 upgrade.

Chuck, I downloaded/extracted 6.22.

I see a config-inc.php and a config-int.php

Do those get uploaded to my site? Or are those the "config" files which I don't upload?

Okay... I uploaded the necessary files...and ran upgrade.php but I see no option to upgrade from 6.21 to 6.22.

I do see an option to upgrade from 6.1 to 6.2, but then it says I do this ONLY if I have 6.1...which I do not.. I have 6.21

What should I do please?

And now I have an error.

I went to vBulletin and chose QuickLinks > Mark Forums Read and get this error:

"Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/content/t/m/a/<myname>/html/gallery/inc_features.php on line 67
Table '<myname>.pp_photos' doesn't exist"

I'm guessing it is something I did with this upgrade, because it was working fine before...and it does mention "gallery" in the error path.

Ack! Please help!

Edit: In fact I can't access my forums at all now!

Please read the bold text in this thread. You need to uncomment the mysql_select_db lines and link lines and fill out with the proper mysql info

Should I NOT replace the inc_features.php file next time I follow the upgrade directions (as I don't replace the config and install files)?

I'm starting to think that I shouldn't upgrade that often if I'm going to have to deal with this problem each time I upgrade.

Hi Chuck,

Okay, I printed out that link of integrating and I did scan over the bold information.

I have no idea how to do any of that.

Is there a way to go back to before I started to try to upgrade? So then I don't have to deal with any of this?

I'm curious about something...

Since my forums and gallery are integrated, were there different steps I should have done to upgrade?

I saw nothing about it in the "upgrade.txt".

Hi Chuck and thanks for answering.

I paid a friend to fix the problem. I guess I just get frustrated that it wouldn't be easier to upgrade... but I'm aware I'm no programmer.

I apologize if I took out my frustration on you and the forums.
