| VB Integration with PP
Chuck,
I got the vb import done, bought the license today, couldn't resist to install and finish the import. What I also did is, make a copy of the pp database from my old forum and photopost database. I put that copy of database in a new database name where the vb is installed. Now my question is, if I just change the db name in the pp config file to the new database which contains the vb and not the ipb database, and then rerun the installation of pp and integrate the vb with pp in this new database which contains the pp and vb tables, will it work?
It might confuse you, basically, I put pp and vb in one database which does not contain the ipb database tables. However all the users from ipb are imported in the vb tables. So when I change the config file of pp to the new database name which contains pp and vb, and then run the installation, will it work? Also, can you give me the link to the userfix script(i could not find it anywhere) and do you happen to have msn for such support?
Regards,
Tauhid

support is here on the forums or support email through photopost there is no instant message or telephone support.
Your fine using whatever database settings you wish or cloned databases thats up to you. If your happy with your results that is what is important.

having your gallery slow does indicate anything wrong with the software. try optimizing your database tables. try rebooting the server. slow sites are all indicators your server is over capacity.

I am optmizing the tables, rebooted the server, still the same problem. the forum loads amazingly fast, the gallery doesn't.

I can see that my mysql database has been significantly increased from 150mb to 460mb after the import to vbulletin, you think that is the main reason? Should I ask my server company to move me to a better mysql hosting server? I dont understand, I did almost all of what Michael recommended in the aboive post, but still the vb is super fast in loading but not photopost. this is so weird.

Have you tried moving photopost into its own database?

doing that now, chuck.
I exported the whole forum and gallery database of IPB & PP. I am importing that into a new database name. I will run the vbulletin setup on that database and see if it gets faster after all the import and installation is done. I will report back here. Lets give this a try.

Ok chuck, I know why the database loads so slowly, it was because when photopost was reinstalled after the impex import was done and all things were done, during the re-installation, it gave loads of mysql errors. I will attach a file in the following link just to show you the number of errors and you might get an idea or something. Please tell me what I should do now.
The photopost and IPB Databases from the old site was imported into a new database name where vbulletin was installed. Once installed, vbulletin was integrated with photopost after photopost reinstall. This gave lots of mysql errors. Any idea what I can do to cure this disease? http://www.wheelsbd.com/errors/ppsqlbug.txt |

Btw, this is after a second fresh install and integration of vb with photopost, same thing happened last time, I ignored the sql error, this time I caught them. They showed up during running the install.php file of photopost.
