Issues and upgrade (v4.85 + vB 3.7.x)

Chuck,

I am currently trying to upgrade a PhotoPost instance that is part of a site I acquired. We successfully upgraded the forum software from 2.x to 3.7.x and now it's time to get PhotoPost working. The version that is currently installed is 4.8.5, you can see it running here:
Interference.com Photo Gallery (U2 Photos, U2 Concert Photos, Member Photos) - All Images - Powered by PhotoPost

I am currently unable to login to the adm-index.php because I think the software is too old to connect with 3.7 (but I am not sure). I know when I edit the config-int.php and change the VB3_INTEGRATION so that the value says yes the application only renders a blank white screen.

Yesterday I did an upgrade and was able to get the integration to work but I still had some issues with the full size images not showing up. That being said, I think if I can get the full size images to show up before I upgrade everything will work fine.

If you look at the site (link) you will notice the thumbnails work but when you click on any of them you get the "No photo specified!" error message.

I have reviewed all the paths in both config-inc and config-int as well as in the database to make sure they are set correctly. Unless I am blind to something obvious I just can't seem to figure out what is causing the thumbs to show up but the full size images are not. I read the link you suggest to everyone:
How to Move Servers and/or Change Directories
But even after checking all that stuff I can't figure out what could be causing this issue.

Do you have any suggestions on how I can get the full size images to work with 4.8.5? Then I can upgrade to 6.2.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Andy

try turning off the image overlay in layout options in admin make the thumbnail view thumbnail so I can see the image path and offer advice.

Make sure also when upgrading you do not run 485 upgrade more than once and permissions are correct on the data directory to 777 permissions.

You can then post links here and show us your issues after upgrading.

I currently cannot login to the adm-index.php because the software shows a blank white page when I try to enable the integration in the config-int.php. So I am changing settings through the database (pp_settings table). I see an option for "Select a border for your thumbnails" and the value is "thumbnail-round" which I think is responsible for the overlay. I tried just putting "off" in there but that did not work. How can I disable this without Admin access?

I just double (and triple) checked the directory permissions and the data folder plus all the sub-folders are 777.

Chuck, do you suggest I try the upgrade again even though I cannot see the large images currently? Somewhere I read you saying it's best to make sure things are working before upgrading.

If you get a white page turning on the vb3 integration you need to edit config-int.php and make sure the path to your vb forum is correct on the $vbpath line

I would suggest you post a link so we see where your at so we can tell you what you might need to do and as always you should have backups before you start an upgrade. Your files are all still 4.85 so you need to actually upgrade the files and run through the upgrade once if you have not done so. You never run the 485 upgrade more than once.

If you can let me know what to put in the "Select a border for your thumbnails" field in the database I can turn off the overlay. If not you can see the paths in the HTML source.

Do you offer upgrade services?

Yes we offer upgrade services. The issue here is that I see is have you done the upgrade your site still shows 485 and if your upgrade had been run it would not say that

anyway you select thumbnail as your border not the overlays and I can see the thumbnail path when you do this.

Chuck,

I was able to change it so the thumbnails show up without the overlay image.

Where can I pay for upgrade service and turn this over to you all?

Andy

Andy

Your issue is you have not upgraded yet. Your still running 4.8 series so no issues are going to be resolved till you upgrade because that version is not going to work with 3.7 of vbulletin.

You can order an upgrade service here
