Cant upload into new category

I can upload a picture in the Members Gallery, but I cant upload into a new category that I created.

I also created a member album, and cant upload in there.

I receive this message.

This shows on the upload page too. And I am using a normal jpg file.
Allowable Image Types: jpg,jpeg,png

(): Sorry, this image type is not supported yet.

Have you checked safe mode is not on on the server?

If you view the data directory is that numeric category on the server and set to 777 permissions?

i disabled PHP safe mode and have checked chmod 777 for the whole /data directory including subdirectories/files

If safe mode was on the categories where never created there never actually where created. Now that safe mode is off and the data directory has been checked and is 777 then delete any categories you created and recreate them so the actual data directories can be created.

thats exactly what happened !!

i deleted the categories and recreated them, and everything working great
