leaving comments on gallery photos is S-L-O-W

we have had numerous complaints about how slow the gallery is to comment on - due to this issue we have LOST a lot of members from posting and using our site over the last few months.

What we need to find out is why the comments are so slow to process; and how to fix it.

we are upgrading to the latest build later today but back in 06 we had this issue as well after upgrading to the most current build at that time; and someone very helpful here at PP helped us and optimized our db; but it's now occurring again as well.

Hello

well you would want to optimise your database a least monthly to maintain mysql health and also other factors like how big the site is and how much traffic can all determine speed verus the hardware used.

Have you attempted to optimise your database? If you have not optimised databases in a couple years this could cause issues with slowdowns.

You can post test comments here:

overall we'd love to have the gallery work much faster but don't know what we need to do for that happen but in particular many have complained about how long it takes to leave comments.
