new install go to click "upload photos" and get

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/digita80/public_html/gallery/image-inc.php on line 1174

I also just completed a fresh install of 6.1 and received the exact same error when I click the upload photos link on the main /index.php page ... error I am receiving is "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in ...../image-inc.php on line 1174"

I added a extra closing bracket at the end of that file and it worked

Do you mean you just added one final "}" at the end of the image-inc file? If so, I just tried that an it didn't work for me. Seems odd that a fresh not-yet-tweaked install of the software would be missing something so simple and that we'd be the only 2 people to notice...

Hmmm.... so, it's still not working, but I am not a coder, so maybe I am mistakenly doing something wrong here... so, here is what was there:

Now, do you mean for me to add the "}" to line 1174 as below?.....

I have a fresh install and I am getting the same error too.

I looked for this code and it looks like in the current download the code you posted is in lines 1087 to 1102. It took me some time to find this so I would suggest rewording the correction to be:

It did solve the issue, but I also did just download this this morning. The download package should get fixed

It usually takes Michael some time to update builds once fixes have been posted
