Question about 6.1

I'm currently using 5.62 and would like to upgrade to 6.1. Is this going to cost me $129 less the 25% saving?

And do I need to pay the $39 to get another years access to the member section?

Please tell me what I need to do/pay to get 6.1

Thanks

If you already own a license then all you will need to do is grab the new version from the members area. If your access to the members area has expired (12 months) then you'll need to renew it for the specific license you want to upgrade at a cost of $39. If you own more than one license and they have expired, the cost is $39 for each...obviously all costs are before any discount codes are applied.

Yes you purchase a renewal for any license with expired download access and you will be fine. Thats $39.00 - 25% = 29.25

I paid my membership and downloaded 6.1 but don't understand the upgrade instructions included.

Is there an easy to follow instructions? I'm upgrading from 5.62 which was using phpbb2 to 6.1 using phpbb3.

Sorry, but this is probably easy for someone, but not me.

well you need to run the normal upgrade script to go from 5.62 to 6.1

That will upgrade your old tables however you need to reinstall because there is no upgrade from phpbb2 to phpbb3 as its a whole different integration. You need to after your upgrade clear all usergroup entries from your photopost usergroups table via phpmyadmin or something like that then rerun through an install to integrate with phpbb3 and answer everything correctly like putting the correct cookie name etc in and after install you should be fine to go back in and reset permissions for phpbb3 usergroups.

I've managed to upgrade and install the new version but am now receiving a few errors on the main page as well as it telling me that there are no images in the categories.

It also says there are 578 users when there are 528 and 905 photos when there should be 996.

Any ideas how to fix the above problems?

There is no direct upgrade path from phpbb2 to phpbb3. You must clear your photopost usergroups table run an install and essentially reinstall into the same database and select phpbb3 and answer all the info correct especially the phpbb3 cookie name. You must then run your upgrades you need to run.

If you did not do the exact steps like this its hard to say with certainty what your issue is but sure looks to me like you have a problem with usergroups not being correct.

50 more members thats because phpbb has bots as actual users in their usergroups table modify your phpbb3.php file and line 275 add this in bold

Code:
Content visible to verified customers only.
Your photos still say 905 so that just appears what you have.

That didn't work. So there's no way of adding those extra missing photos? I do have the data and uploads folders backed up from the previous version.

Just ran into another problem. I was editing my usergroups and now I can't access the admin section even though as admin I set it to allow admin access. I am getting this

You are not a valid administrator or moderator

Also how can I increase the size of the category index thumbnails?

and my lightbox isn't working

ok I have fixed

lightbox
access to admin

Still need help with

the extra 50 members. That fix didn't work for me
increase the size of the category index thumbnails without changing the size of the thumbnails of the other photos such as those in recent, random etc... I just want to increase the size of the index cat thumb

and this

So there's no way of adding those extra missing photos? I do have the data and uploads folders backed up from the previous version

The fix I posted to hide the bot users is indeed correct in phpbb3.php file

It is in the totalusers function that that file

Category avatars You can try this in pp-inc.php find this code and change the .5 to say .75 or 1

http://www.photopost.com/forum/showp...15&postcount=4

I dont know what to tell you about pictures an upgrade does not delete pictures in any manner so potentially here I cant say your system reports 905 photos. Did you try deleting or rebuilding photo thumbnails after upgrade anything here?

Correct and your phpbb3 bots are usergroup 6 so they will not be counted in the user count. Make sure to turn off your category cache so your not caching olds results.

But should the user count in the stats box drop from 578 to 528 after I do that?

I ran the rebuild photo thumbnails and it's still missing those photos. They are on the server though so I don't know why they aren't showing in the gallery. It seems to be only those ones that were uploaded after I switched the forum to phpbb3.

Your count should match the forum

As far as the photos if they dont exist in the database it does not matter what is on the server.

You would need to view any database backups and restore the missing records. I cant say why anything is missing as an upgrade would most certainly not do that. Only if you used a separate database prefix and restored a database backup that did not have those entries would they not be there.
