I fixed the user count. My usergroup id for the bots was 533 not 6, so I just changed that part and it worked.

Working on the missing photos now. Must be something to do with the databse, wouldn't it?

yes it would my friend why was your bot usergroup that? Thats definately not a standard usergroup for bots in a default phpbb3.

No idea but maybe because it was an upgrade from phpbb2 to phpbb3. Works so thats the main thing.

I made a backup of the database before I upgraded the gallery. If I was to restore this database, would that fix the missing photos problem?

If you restored the backup of the photos table possible yes but make sure to backup what you have now as a safety and run the upgrade you need to run again because your restoring an older table.

I've decided not to pursue trying to get those missing photos back. I have done what you suggested above and what someone else suggested but I'm guessing the problem is to do with the database after the switch to phpbb3. Not to worry, members just need to upload their photos again.

While I'm here I edited the contrast template css to blend the gallery into my forum a bit more. I have everything the way I like it except that the text for the comments left are white. I can change this colour by editing one of the small, medium or large text attributes in the css. can't remember which one. But when I change the colour to something other than white it also changes the text somewhere else.

Is there a way just to change the colour of the text for the comments without affecting anywhere else?

Not without you possibly creating some new style class and editing the showproduct template where comments are shown and change the class there to the new class.
