| New Installation - white screen on install.php
Just downloaded the pro version of photopost. I have double checked that all my php, mysql, GD, etc. are current. Everything looks good, but I get a white screen on install.php. Little strange, when I open the source file from my browser, its totally blank for install.php. I have checked the actual file, and all the code is present. But its not working on my browser.
Any ideas?
Robin

Have you removed the .NEW extentions off of the config files.

Was not sure if email, or the forum was the best place to ask my questions. I guess the forum, so it may help others down the road..
I still can not get the install to complete. I did get past the white screen. Removing NEW did the trick.
But the install.php can not find my database.
I did not create a new database in PHPMYADMIN.. I used the same info for my PHPBB3 and COPPERMINE existing database. I am just using one database for everything. I plan on integrating PHOTOPOST with PHPBB3. Also doing the import Copper Mine thing....
So reading your instructions, I just used all my info for my current sql database, where Copper Mine and PHPBB3 are located. I have triple checked the info, and its all correct. But I still get the following error message.
[host:$host][mysql_user:$mysql_user][mysql_password:$mysql_password]
Thank you
Robin

I would suggest you recheck that database info. Make sure to enter the correct host username password and database name. That info suggests something is incorrect. remember if your using a nonstandard port you must specify that on your host line like so.
localhost:3307

Port worked....
I am now stuck on the last part... Got this error message:
I cannot connect to the PhotoPost database.
I am connecting with PHPBB3. I tried leaving everything blank in the previous screen for forum database, and even tried the prefix phpbb (which is what I use).
Thanks for all the help... I AM REALLY CLOSE...

Just double check that both database portions are filled in correctly in the config portion of install. It would appear that something is still not correct there.

Chuck, I left the 2nd set of databases blank on the config setup. I thought it stated to use the above information, only if you are doing stand alone mode. Do I need to manually add the tables to phpmyadmin, or does this config setup do it automatically. If not what info do I use?

You must always fill out both spots. I do beleive the install config file states if your using the same database to put the same info on that second set of database settings. |

User Database Host (enter same info as above if not integrating with a third party forum)
I am integrating with phpbb3.. I think it had a default of root and some other items, but I deleted them earlier.
Mind is blank what the default was. Would I use the same info and just make up a new name for a database?
