Strange Path Problem

Hey Chuck, I am trying to do a new install and I keep getting this error; "Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Lost connection to MySQL server during query in /hermes/bosweb/web144/b1443/ipw.allendalecountyweb/public_html/vbforum/photopost/install.php on line 550
I cannot connect to the PhotoPost MySQL server. [host:$host][mysql_user:$mysql_user][mysql_password:$mysql_password]. Check your config-inc.php for the correct settings and rerun."

I set the path to "/home/users/web/b1443/ipw.allendalecountyweb/public_html/vbforum/photopost" , but I get this "/hermes/bosweb/web144/b1443" junk in the error. Any ideas?

Thanks for you time and ANY help..

well first off your path is going to be the second path statement and you need to post the full error for me to truly comment

As far as the mysql thing you need to enter the proper mysql connect info in the config portion as that error tells me the info you have entered is incorrect.

Okay so no paths issues I see you only have one issue

/hermes/bosweb/web144/b1443/ipw.allendalecountyweb/public_html/vbforum/photopost

Your mysql information is incorrect for the database you setup. Make sure that in the config portion of install you enter the correct database host and name username and password to access the database and you should not have any issues. That info should be in your hosting control panel.

Very Slowly I am getting there

O.K. I got that last page covered, but now when I move on after setting VB intergration to "yes" for all three answers, I get the following on the Photo Post login page..

"Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /hermes/bosweb/web144/b1443/ipw.allendalecountyweb/public_html/vbforum/photopost/forums/vb3.php on line 32"

I am running VB V3.6.8

Any Ideas?

Thanks again. I hate to bother you so much...

That tell me on step 4 you have not entered the correct vb database prefix. Or if that is correct your database info for vb under user database portion of config is incorrect.

All of the tables begin with "acw" like

acwvbaccess
acwvbadminhelp
acwvbadministrator
etc...

Would not the prefix be "acw"? This is what I put in on step 4.

acwvb would be the prefix as indicated in your vb config file in the includes subdirectory of vbulletin.

Boy, do I feel like a dummy... But I still am getting this error;
"Warning: mysql_fetch_array(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /hermes/bosweb/web144/b1443/ipw.allendalecountyweb/public_html/vbforum/photopost/forums/vb3.php on line 32"

Here are the fields I filled in;

Step 4

Your Forum Integration - VB3
URL to Forum directory - http://www.allendalecountyweb.com/vbforum

Forums database table prefix - acwvb
The next 3 fields left blank
Your website name - allendalecountyweb.com
Website URL to homepage - http://www.allendalecountyweb.com
URL to PhotoPost main script directory - http://www.allendalecountyweb.com/vbforum/photopost

Step 5

Server Path to Forum directory - /hermes/bosweb/web144/b1443/ipw.allendalecountyweb/public_html/vbforum/photopost/forum

Server Path to PhotoPost directory - /hermes/bosweb/web144/b1443/ipw.allendalecountyweb/public_html/vbforum/photopost

URL to your forums - http://www.allendalecountyweb.com/vbforum
URL to PhotoPost - http://www.allendalecountyweb.com/vbforum/photopost
URL to your PhotoPost DATA directory- http://www.allendalecountyweb.com/vb...photopost/data

PhotoPost Database Table Prefixes - pp_

The rest of the fields;

on
on
on
off
off

Then when I continue, I get the remove install.php, then the next page I get the above error..

It's just about to whip me.. Thank you again for your time and patience..

Okay if your sure the above prefix is correct make sure as noted in my initial reply also that in your photopost config-inc.php for the user database settings you have the correct vbulletin info there.

Did you turn off my Vbulletin board? It is off, would that make a difference? Should I leave it off?

either your table prefix is wrong or the database info is incorrect.

How would I turn off your forum? That would not make a difference in your error.

When IPOWER switched over to their new platform, my old Photo Post database got corupted AND renamed. In trying to find it and clean it up, I deleted it. Lost over 1000 photos.. Now I am trying to go back.. What should I do? Uninstall the Photo Post, and start over?

If you are ever in SC, you'll have to let me know and I'll buy you a "cold beer soda." Seriously, thanks for all you are doing..

It's late here and I may be completely off the mark but looking at your url's and server paths above it looks like you have photopost as a subdirectory of vbforum but then you have the "server path to forum directory" as a sub-directory of photopost? Is that how you are set up? Also you have in one place "forum" and another "forums" both supposed to be pointing to that directory?

jpbryan with the error your posting regarding issues with mysql info matching up line 32 on vb3.php your error can only be what I have previously posted here. Your database info as entered in the config is wrong for vb in the user database portion or your table prefix is incorrect for vb in step 4 of the install.

Both of the proper settings you need can be found in your vb config.php in the vb includes subdirectory of the forum software.

OK. I got past the first error message to a clean login screen. Now when I try to log in, I get these messages;

Warning: chdir() [function.chdir]: No such file or directory (errno 2) in /hermes/bosweb/web144/b1443/ipw.allendalecountyweb/public_html/vbforum/photopost/header-inc.php on line 47

Warning: main(./global.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /hermes/bosweb/web144/b1443/ipw.allendalecountyweb/public_html/vbforum/photopost/header-inc.php on line 48

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required './global.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php-4.4.7/lib/php') in /hermes/bosweb/web144/b1443/ipw.allendalecountyweb/public_html/vbforum/photopost/header-inc.php on line 48

I am so sorry to take up so much time, but I REALLY appreciate the help..

Your issue is your trying to integrate with vbulletin and you did not set the proper path in the last step of install.

In your config-int.php file on the $vbpath line enter the correct path to your vb forum and you will be fine.
