ImageMagick installation

hi there, i seem to be having a problem installing imagemagick, i have been following this install guide http://www.photopost.com/magicknoroot-php.html

but when i get to the bit where i have to install the jpeg library i type in the command "make install" and it just says invalid command, same with when i type in "./configure --enable-shared --prefix=/home/username/public_html/imagemagick"

am i doing something wrong? how did u guys install imagemagick?

i am using mac osx terminal btw

thanks for your time any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Not a problem if you type gcc or make on your ssh command line it should come back saying invalid command or tell you more.

You dont have the proper server programs installed to perform an imagemagick install.

You might need to ask at imagemagick site how to install on a mac as the instructions your reading are for unix linux
