You still have not given me the access I have asked for. Your data directories are not set to 777 that I see or safe mode is on. The error is pretty explicit. You can send a url admin access to the application and ftp login to the server and then we can assist you.

I do not understand why you repeatedly do not send us the information we are requesting. I need the logins requested to check your site and install if we are able to assist you we need these.

Why can't we continue troubleshooting this issue without giving you login information? I need to get approval before I can send you FTP and other login info you requested. As I stated in the last PM, what should the 'GROUP' and 'OWNER' permissions be set to? Currently, they are set to root...

That should not matter. I need the info requested to be able to check your site and settings permissions etc. Your not giving me anything here to trouble shoot. Here is the status of things as I see

You say this is the error I get.

I reply with the usual causes

You say everything is set correct.

I ask for access to check this

You deny the request.

Therefore it is near impossible to assist you without seeing the site and checking things. Place a link to your servers php info that will help some but I need your access's to continue to assist. I have listed all possible casuses for the issue you report and you say everything is correct. There is nothing to check until I can verify this myself. I hope you understand what I am saying here.

FYI - I wrote a small script that created 999 (1-999) subfolders and gave them 777 permissions, and that solved my problem...

That Bob would tell me your uploads directory was not 777 as user upload directories are created automatically when a user uploads if they have not before. If the uploads directory was 777 and the directories where not created then safe mode would have to be on. At any rate you should be getting errors and allowing support technicians access to your server to check things out and correct the issue would be the correct action.

If file uploads set to On in phpinfo in admin? Seems to me your server is dropping the file.
