Moving Servers Problem

Just moved Photopost 6.0 to a new servers using "scp -rp ..." as the copy program. Path layout is the same on both servers. The mysql database was already on another server and so that didn't change. The domain name is still the same. Essentially, the setup should be the same on either server.

The PP admin program works fine. Also, the PP main categories page displays fine. However, when I click on any category, I get a "Page not found" error page.

Thumbnails for each category are being displayed. At the bottom of the page the Recent Images area displays thumbnails fine. I can click on the the "More" option below it and the pictures change. Like the categories, if I click on any thumbnail, I get a "Page not found" error (This is not our standard Apache 404 "not found" error page).

Interesting, we are getting the same behaviors with ReviewPost which we also moved at the same time.

I've gone back and done a re-install of PP and believe I changed all the permissions as shown in the install instructions. The data directory is definitely 777 and done recursively (chmod 777 -R data) over its subdirctories.

Any ideas what I might have missed?

Thanks. -- Rik

Further to my message above, I've found that if I turn OFF "user friendly" urls in the admincp, then I can access the categories. Does that suggest anything?

Thanks. -- Rik

I found this in another message:
Quote:
For spider urls to work you must have in the Apache httpd.conf file AcceptPathInfo On or AllowPathInfo On depending on your version of Apache.
I'm using Apache 2.2.3 and placed the "AcceptPathInfo On" directive in httpd.conf and restarted with no effect.

Correct your server does not support them and you can not use them. You might need to work with your webhost in order to properly use spider urls.

Chuck:

Could you clarify? What needs to be done? We have several dedicated servers and just moved to a newer server. What are we missing? I'm sure we can add it in if required as we have a great host company and things were working previously at the same company.

Thanks. -- Rik

ps: We do use mod_rewrite for our vBulletin forums (vbseo).

I am not a web server administrator so I really dont know what to tell you. I just know what information that has been passed down. I dont know how to install it I just know usually if a server does not support spider urls it usually has to do with one of those two variables not being set correctly in the apache config. Now your host would be better suited to assisting you with server configurations.

If anyone knows what needs to be compiled into or otherwise set in Apache 2.2.x or above, please advise. I'll update this if I find out as well.

Thanks. -- Rik
