escapeshellarg error I've recently moved to a new VPS and when I upload an image I get the message warning escapeshellarg() disabled for security reasons. The image uploads but its not resized. I know its a hosting issue, but I want to learn how to do this myslef rather than ticketing them to do it. Can anyone give step by step instructions on how to enable this please (if indeed it should be enabled) |
This means you can not use jhead jpegtran or imagemagick. You can clear out the jpegtran jhead boxes if they are filled in and set your image processor to GD2 and you should be able to upload and have images sized right. Those Options are in Admin => Global Options. |
I'd rather get Imagemagick working |
Then you can ask your host if they will lift those restrictions on your setup otherwise you need to use GD2. From my experience with hosts who set things like this your left to use GD2. |
Its a VPS, I can do it myself, I just dont know how ;) |
In your php info what functions are labeled as disabled? You might need to ask your host where they disabled things in php or apache. They might be able to help you. |
thanks that helped, as I was able to amend the php.ini and remove escapeshellarg from the disabled list. As usual with these things its just a case of knowing where to look. I now have the following error ;) imageinfo failed: any advice please? |
Never seen an issue like that where do you get this? Trying to understand where that is displayed as I do not see any language like that within our product please post a url and login. |
oops my bad. Photopost is working correctly after removing escapeshellarg from the disabled list. imageinfo failed: is a vB issue with imagemagick when uploading attachments/changing avatars etc. |
No problem no wonder I was stumped as to where that was displayed its not our program ;) |
