Question Path error after installation

I want to move to a new server, plus upgrade to PP pro 6.01.

I have successfully installed PP pro on the new server and then imported my database to the database on the new server.
Now nothing shows anymore and I am getting this error:
Quote:
Warning: require(/domains/mydomain/public_html/photopost/languages/english.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/mydomain/domains/mydomain/public_html/photopost/pp-inc.php on line 176

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/domains/mydomain/public_html/photopost/languages/english.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/mydomain/domains/mydomain/public_html/photopost/pp-inc.php on line 176
I see that this error messes up the path which should be
/domains/mydomain/public_html/photopost

I do have access to the admin, but if I try to change anything then I just get the same error above.

If your path is correct which it looks like make sure you have a languages directory under your photopost install and there is an english.php file there. You can upload a clean languages directory to ensure your issue will be resolved. It sounds to me like your language file is missing or corrupt if the path is correct.

The path /home/mydomain/domains/mydomain/public_html/photopost/pp-inc.php is incorrect.

/home/mydomain/domains/mydomain/public_html/photopost/pp-inc.php is there.

I have now uploaded a clean languages directory, but the issue is still there. What can I do?

In your config-inc.php file correct your $PP_PATH variable to point to the proper path.

$PP_PATH = "/domains/mydomain/public_html/photopost";

I checked and the settings are correct:
$PP_PATH = "/domains/mydomain/public_html/photopost";

Please post a url here so we can see your error. Also have you checked in Global Options and Storage Options to ensure you have corrected all paths urls. I notice you moved servers so this may assist.

For some reason I do not have access to adm-index.php or adm-inc.php anymore. I am getting the same error.

I have sent the url to the photopost contact form. (Addressed to you)

Please post any replies to that email that I sent so we keep the discussion in one place and I have your site url admin login etc.

The error can not be the same if you changed what we noted.

Oops. sorry. Yes, that improves it quite a bit. Now there is a different error. And the categories are displayed quite strange.

I can now enter the admin. I am trying to edit my global options, but after I submit and then enter the admin again, the options have been reset to what they where.

Edit: It's getting pretty weird now: If I edit photopost's global options on the new server and hit submit, then it affects photopost on the old server. Even when I create a new admin account on the new server, that is unknown to the forum on the old server. And when I click on a link in the PP admin of old server, then it takes me to the new server and vice versa.

Alfa

You really need to read the post link I posted above because it details all your issues your gonna have.. You have not updated your config files to read the new information. You need to transfer your files and database to the new server and then follow this thread in its entirety. You can also try running install.php again to update all the paths and database info. Basically your still connecting to the old mysql database it would appear.

I have double checked my config files and checked directory permissions. I can not do step 7-10, because I can not change anything in my admin.
I will run install.php again
When I use ftp then the path to photopost is:
/domains/mydomain/public_html/photopost

Should I use this in the config step or the path that you have specified in your email?

You can run install.php thats probally easiest for you. Just make sure to double check in the config it has the proper database info for this new server and go through and reinstall do not worry about the duplicate errors just go through all the way and all your paths urls will be updated.

The database info for the old server and the new server are exactly the same. (username, database name & password)
Only the path is different. When I open my ftp client and go to my new server then the path is:
/domains/mydomain.com/public_html/photopost
You stated in your email that I should use this in my config file:
/home/mydomain/domains/mydomain.com/public_html/photopost

This what I used.

I did run install.php now and this is the error I get when I go to my photopost index:
Quote:
Warning: chdir() [function.chdir]: No such file or directory (errno 2) in /home/mydomain/domains/mydomain.com/public_html/photopost/header-inc.php on line 52

Warning: require(./global.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/mydomain/domains/mydomain.com/public_html/photopost/header-inc.php on line 53

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required './global.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/mydomain/domains/mydomain.com/public_html/photopost/header-inc.php on line 53
Please see the error at my site.

That error suggests you have the improper path to your forums entered in your config-int.php file on the $vbpath line. Make sure to set the path correctly so it can find vbulletin on your new server.

Similar problem with paths

I am getting the numerous messages like that below

Warning: fopen(mydomain/Gallery/data/thumbs/index.htm) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in mydomain\Gallery\install.php on line 1315
Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in mydomain\Gallery\install.php on line 1316

The problem it appears is that the thumbs subdirectory is after the 1,2 or 500 subdirectory but these do not show up in the command....

Here is the next one...

Warning: fopen(D:/mydomain/Gallery/data/medium/index.htm) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in mydomain\Gallery\install.php on line 1321

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in mydomain\Gallery\install.php on line 1322

Same problem in that the medium subdirectory is after the 1,2,500 subdirectory but it does not put the 1,2,500 subdirectory in.

Any ideas?

Colin

Yes those errors tell us here that you have not set your data directory to 777 permissions at every level or in windows this would be READ WRITE EXECUTE.

Here are our install instructions again so that you may familiarize yourself with the proper permissions.

http://www.photopost.com/installphp.html

So thats 3 errors I see here. One you where using a wrong path to photopost. Two you entered a wrong path to vbulletin and Three you have not set permissions on your photopost directories.

Let me know if anything else pops up but fixing those issues you should be fine especially since those errors would come at the end of install your almost there.

error on Forum and Photopost

I am a bit confused by your comment regarding the path to the Forum and photopost...

I fully understand the permissions part. I am using Smart FTP and it seems that my host will not allow me to change permissions through that and therefore only through the admin cp for the hosting so I can fix that.

Is it possible that because of the fact that the permissions are not set right that it is not saving the paths I enter for the forum and photopost?

I had input them as www.mydomain.com/Forum and www.mydomain.com/gallery

Just wanted to make sure before I go changing things again.

Thanks for the help
