Hello that error explicitly tells me that the information you have entered for the external user database is incorrect. If you run install and correct this then you should not have an error.

If you are integrating with vb3 then last step of install you entered the wrong path to the forum. You can edit your config-int.php file and make sure the correct path to vb is on the $vbpath line then you should be fine.

You can view the phpinfo under your vb admin panel under maintenance or simply take your photopost path and remove the photopost directory and place your forum name there. You should see the incorrect path when viewing that line noted.

Would the 'forum name' be the name of the SQL database or just the root directy of the forum?

Also, when integrating into VB is it possible to use two MySQL databases...one for PhotoPost and one for VB and have it access the data as needed?

bests,
R

You can use separate databases sure and the forum path would be the forum directory name in the full server path like so

/var/www/html/forums
