Upgrade screws up categories!!

Hi,

I've upgraded from 5.61 to 6.0 today and it seems to have completely screwed up our category listing on the homepage.

See here:

The upgrade script ran perfectly and reported no errors.

Any ideas?

In Admin => Global Options turn off your category cache for a minute and view your index then you can turn it back on.

Stephan Whelan October 11th, 2007 09:40 AM

Right - turning it off worked a charm! Thanks.

However turning it back on made it go all screwy again. Can I clear the cache in any way?

Thanks!

Turn it back on view your index and hit refresh in your browser.

Stephan Whelan October 11th, 2007 09:53 AM

Nope - turned it back on and hit refresh but it goes back to being the screwed up version.

yeah something about your category cache is stuck. Only other thing I know to do is upload a photo with it on or run a scan database in admin to update the post counts. That will trigger the cache refresh.

Stephan Whelan October 11th, 2007 02:59 PM

Done that and still no joy. Whenever I switch the cache back on it screws the category listing.

Is there any way of manually clearing the cache?

Chuck S October 11th, 2007 04:11 PM

Yes you can use phpmyadmin and clear the cache table manually.

Having the exact same problem with the categories screwing up. Removing the caching option clears it up. Currently running the scan database utility to reset the categories.

- Did not work.

Stephan Whelan October 12th, 2007 03:24 AM

Yup - that fixed it!

Thanks!

So your entry in the database would not refresh glad your up and running.
