Registration and e-mail not working

Suddenly new members can make a registration and as soon they had clicked the verification link in the email Photopost had send the can immedtly start uploading pictures without my approve.

Before the update from 5.62 to 6 it work s fine.

And the users and me don´t get any emails anymore when we got comment on a picture???

It´s a standalone version´I´m using and I had (today) downloaded the last version and uploaded it to my server.

Klaus

Users in a standalone install have always been able to upload after verifying their account since that verification link bumps them into the registered users category and you elect registered users can upload without moderation. This has not changed every in Photopost standalone. The registration is very much the same as when the first PHP version 3.0 came out.

Hi

Hope you don't mind me using this similar thread to ask a registration question.

My installation has just been completed (thanks)

New registrations are not receiving a confirmation email either.

Is there some way that I can test the mail functionality on my server ?

I have submitted a ticket to my server support but as it's a dedicated server, chances are I'm going to have to sort this out myself ?

Thanks for any input

regards

Neil

Can´t you just make a test account and see if you get a confirmation mail?

You have to have two different email-adresses because you can´t register twice with the same email-adress.

Hi again

As a follow up, my problem is solved !!

After numerous support tickets, it turns out that a linux setting namely "selinux" was set to enforcing.

Setting changed and.......it works.

I have tried numerous php.ini edits, reinstalled php and tried both sendmail and postfix.

Just wish I knew more about linux !!

This was for a dedicated server using fedora core 6 with Apache 2

Hope that info is of use to someone.

Regards
