I Can Not Log In!

Hello,

I have read many posts already on cookie problems and settings. Well I can't figure it out!

I have photopost 6 and vbulletin 3.6.8 both installed. My problem is: I login to my forum and then click on my gallery link. I am then shown as not logged in to the gallery. When I go back to my forum I am logged out as well and unable to log back in.

Photopost is installed in my fourm folder

Forum is at: www.mydomain.com/grayhawk
Photopost is at: www.mydomain.com/grayhawk/gallery

In vbulletin my cookies are set as this:

cookie path: /grayhawk/
domain: blank
(NOTE: using .mydomain as example only here)

In photopost I set them the same:
cookie prefix: bb
cookie path: /grayhawk
cookie domain: blank

Yes my vb license is entered correctly!

Please help I am unable to use my forum or even photopost directly now.

Thanks Yotsume!

cookie path should be / only. To fix this, upload the tools.php script in the 'do_not_upload' folder of the vB zip file to your Admin CP directory and run it from your browser. Use this to reset the cookie domain and path back to the defaults. And then leave your cookie domain and path at the default settings. There is no reason to change these. If you need to specify a unique cookie, use the cookie prefix setting in config.php instead.

I reset the domain and cookie paths. I still get loged out when i go to the gallery.

now what???

Make sure your correct vbulletin license information has been entered where noted in the photopost config-inc.php file on the $vblicense line.

cookie path /

cookie prefix in both apps bb

cooke domain .domain.com

That should enable login from any subdomain and be optimal settings.

Still get booted out when I click on my gallery link in my navbar.

In Vbulletin I have:
Path to Save Cookies: /
Cookie Domain: (blank)

In Photopost I have:
PhotoPost Cookie Path: /
Forum Cookie Prefix: bb
PhotoPost Cookie Domain: .xxxmagicalyears.com

So when I login to vbulletin I am fine. Then, I click gallery from my navbar and I am logged out again. If I click the HOME link in photopost it logs me back in!

So what did I miss? Do I have to enter my domain into vbulletin as well? I will try that. I can always reset it with the tools.php...

This is pure crazy!

PROBLEM RESOLVED... I THINK!

I had to match the domain names in both apps. There needs to be a disclaimer in the instructions that says "Do Not Use a Sub-domain such as .magicalyears/dork! LOL

In Vbulletin I have:
Path to Save Cookies: /
Cookie Domain: .xxxmagicalyears.com

In Photopost I have:
PhotoPost Cookie Path: /
Forum Cookie Prefix: bb
PhotoPost Cookie Domain: .xxxmagicalyears.com

The cool part is I do not have to login to photopost as the admin anymore. It seems to recognise that I am the admin and let me in... Is that correct? I no longer get a propt to login to the photopost admin panel?

Well anyway It seems to all work now. Thanks for the help!

exactly cookie settings must match between both apps if the login is to be the same between both applications.
