Hello,

Since upgrading the gallery to 5.62 no one has been able to upload a photo. Repeated attempts all get the same message...
There was an error uploading this photo. Please report to System Administrator.

I could sure use some help with this, thank you.

Now it says We're sorry, but the system experienced an unrecoverable error. Please try again later.

Okay you have forgotten to run an upgrade when you upgraded.

You need to run the 5.3 and forward upgrades

I have no idea what this means or how to do it, but I am very glad there is a solution.

Thank you and wish me luck!

You did not run your upgrade script when you upgraded

The upgrade instructions are in the documentation folder of the downloaded source

Nothing like paying someone to do an upgrade and they don't do it. I guess I will have to figure it out myself. Thank you for the info.

Between the time I last posted and now, the guy who was supposed to do the upgrade put a back up on of the gallery, grrrrr. So I have to start all over again. But now when I try to download the backup I am told I am expired and I have to purchase all over again? What the heck!

You are kidding! After all this I have to renew? I feel like I am being punished for not being able to figure out the upgrade fast enough. This isn't worth it.

Sorry there is no kidding here. The policies are clearly listed right on the order page which you agreed to when you purchased your software over a year ago.

Quote:
One owned license grants you the right to run one software installation on one domain for an unlimited time, and purchasing an owned license gives you access to our members download area and support for one year.

By purchasing a license, you agree to the terms of the license agreement:
PhotoPost License | PhotoPost Classifieds License | ReviewPost License

After placing an order for a license, we will email you a username and password to access the members area and download the software.
Your license is over one year old. You can run the version you have forever but to continue getting new updates you need to update members access. This is something you do or decide not to do thats up to you. However this is standard practice with any purchased software. You get a certain amount of time to download updates and then after that you would need to purchase a members area update.

As we stated we gave you the correct support answer over 3 weeks ago where you where told to download the source and run the upgrade script because you had not ran it. If you had done that you would have corrected that error. You where missing a field that is added in an upgrade. You took over 3 weeks to respond to this support ticket.

I don't see where your members access expired at all. In fact to my knowledge you only purchased an upgrade service. I can tell you since I am the one who did your upgrade most issues I saw was the sheer fact your application did not have any permissions set according to the install instructions which means uploads would not work period regardless of whether you did run the upgrade script or not.

Our policies are as they are and clearly stated on this website and are not unusual or unfair in any way. Your welcome to your opinion as is anyone but as I have stated you agree to our licensing and company policies when you purchase a license and this is clearly stated on our site.

My suggestion is as I tell anyone it is your responsibility to make sure you have a copy of any software you purchase on the web. Thus go to your members area and download the 5.62 source and tuck it away. That way you will not have to worry about when your members access has expired. Your members access expires in October of this year by the way and is clearly shown in the members area.

Like I said, I hired a couple people to do this for me. Not figuring I would be getting ripped off. I don't know how to do any of this. Kind of like when you have car trouble. Does everyone know how to fix their own car? No, that is why you hire a mechanic. Unfortunetly there are good ones and bad ones.

Okay I am just clarifying the issue here because your venting in this thread seems to be towards us not the people who ripped you off
