Upgrade from 4.85 gives unrecoverable error

Had the same errors as this post, so I followed Chuck's advice there. I proceded "pushing through" all the way up through the current version. Now I have this error:

I'm positive I uploaded all files except the config files.

Well then you must have not been correct what version you had.

Try making sure the top of your upgrade file you place this

$skip_exheader = "yes";


then run every upgrade from 4.7 forward EXCEPT 4.85

Odd. The index page, the config file, and the zip I downloaded from you all said 4.85

Do the upgrade steps in place? I don't have a backup to restore.

One more thing: does the $skip_exheader = "yes"; go on line 1, above <?php or on line 14 after all the comments? Or somewhere else?

place it somewhere near top under the copyright part

The upgrade instructions state to take backups before beginning so make sure to do this
