coppermine import issue

I imported my photos from coppermine and it appears that everything imported, but the categories are all messed up.
The photos appear to be in hidden categories or something. I started to delete figured I would do it all manually then noticed once I did this a bunch of categories showed up. So I was able to move them around and get most of them right.
Under user galleries it shows 900 photos when there are only about 20, so I know alot of them got put in there, just can't see them.
Any suggestions on things to try or check? I'd rather not delete everything and have to re-upload the 2000 photos I have, but this may be the easiest to get it working right.

Thanks

Have you dont the necessary category clean after import as noted in the import instructions?

Providing links to your site would also help illustrate any issue

well I did find the photos, they are just in albums that they weren't in. Actually they are in albums that were coppermine categories so I just have to move them I guess, not a big deal.
Heres my gallery so far if you want to see how mine looks. The photos Im talking about are in the main car shows and events topic, which was a coppermine category with no photos, and the 2006, which was the same.

One question I have is and I just havent searched for it yet, im sure its somewhere, so if you can point me in the right direction.

How do I create category headers and get small thumnails to show up next to the galleries in the forum view, like the viperalley example thats linked to.

Nevermind got it using mass move and found the index thumnail thing, I got everything set. Only lost 1 gallery in the initial deletions I started to do, so not too bad.
