Exclamation textedit.js w/VB 3.6.5 and PP 3.62

Just upgraded vBulletin to 3.6.5 and have run across something with the 'vbulletin_textedit.js' and PP 5.62 text editor, what with their IE 7 fixes - am getting 404's and now javascript errors.

Initially, I was getting 404's as 'vbulletin_textedit.js' has references to just 'clientscript/index.html' and 'clientscript/ieprompt.html' - however, now that I've put the full domain/url in front of that (to get around the 404's), I'm now getting their new prompt box up, but also a Javascript error dialog appearing too! (see attachment)

And yes, it all works perfectly within vBulletin itself, just when in the Comments editor within PP 5.62.

What changes need to be made in order for the editor to work correctly with PP 5.62 and VB 3.6.5?

Thanks in advance.

Has anyone upgraded to vB 3.6.5 and run into this issue with IE7, and PP 5.62 in place? (see above)

Thanks.

Seems I must be the only one who has upgraded to vb 3.6.5 with PP 5.62 in place and run into this issue - I must be living dangerously

Using the 'testing' account I'm getting the '404' errors, so can't get to the point of the others I mentioned earlier. Fix that, and we can then see if you see the same as what I'm experiencing.

Remember it's not making actual comments that's the problem - it's when you try to insert an email link or image url, where I'm getting the script errors.

Thanks.

always helps to explain your issue cause as I stated I get no errors viewing things. So now you say the issue is when trying to place a comment

Sorry for the confusion Chuck...anyway, the actual issue is when you try to insert an email link or image url in a comment using the available editor buttons. This is where I'm getting the script errors, whether it be a first comment or when editing an existing one.

No errors occur when actually posting/editing a comment, but just when you try to do those two things.

Hope that's clear now, if not, just let me know.

Thanks.

I dont see where to correct that url anywhere but in vbulletin_textedit.js but that doesnt help. Now if I make a directory under photopost called clientscript and copy the ieprompt.html file under there and correct that relative url to images.php then everything works fine

If I understand your question correctly....it would be vB's 'clientscript/vbulletin_textedit.js' file that I amended to include the full URL - in 2 different places.

Can you elaborate on the reference to 'images.php'? So do I just create a 'clientscript' directory under my photopost, copy the 'ieprompt.html' into it and then revert the 'vbulletin_textedit.js' to the default - that final bit is unclear.

Or now I just posted the releveant sections (see above) in the .js file - does that make better sense to you?

Thanks.

OK Chuck, I got it working with the suggestions you made and taking another look at your site to see how you did it.

Do you think we'll have to keep this "workaround" for future releases, since it's a vB thing? Sure would be nice to have a cleaner fix.

Anyway, it works! Thanks again

Yes it would be nice if vb did not do relative links everywhere but I dont know any other fix than that

I am having the same problem, but not having so much luck fixing it. It appears to be doing two different things depending on where you click the image icon in the editor.

The two places I'm referring to are in the Quick Reply and in the Post a Comment option. So far I have created the clientscript folder in the PhotoPost folder and copied the ieprompt.html into it. That helped for the Post a Comment, but the Quick Reply is still a problem.

Also, when I click the image icon in the Post a Comment section, it shows a red x for the ieprompt.jpg image, even though I removed that image from the ieprompt.html file. What else should I change?

textedit.js w/VB 3.6.5 and PP 3.62

This is the suggested fix on this

The quick reply and the post a comment are the same fix
