Unhappy Photopost not working after move to Linux

Yesterday, my hosts move my forums (vB) to a Linux server from a Windows server. This was at my request.

I had previously paid to have Photopost professionally integrated with my forums running on vB.

However, from the point at which the transfer has been done, the Galleries have disappeared. The URL now simply shows a blank page, yet the forums have transferred without issue.

I don't know how to get to any Admin options of Photopost or how on earth I'll get the galleries back!

My hosts assured me there would be no problem with the transfer - typically!

Help!

Yep your host is wrong about this.

No big deal ftp to your photopost directory and edit both of the config files and change the server paths to the new server paths used on your new server then your gallery should be up and you can get into admin. Then for your photos to show up you need to go to global options and set the correct server path to the data and uploads directories on this new server and save that. Then go to storage options and hit revert and save twice and you should be fine now

Thanks Chuck (I think you did my installation actually!).

Can you tell me what the config files you refer to are called and what is the name of the photopost directory? I'm a novice at the techy side of this - as if you needed telling!

Hmm, well I have edited the two config files.

I'm on a new MySQL server now too, though the forums went across without a problem, so I've changed the MySQL server name in the config files where necessary.

However, when I try to connect to do the next stage (via Admin in the browser) I get an access denied message.

Thats odd because I know the db user ID/password hasn't changed because the forums use the same. This is followed by a line saying "I cannot connect to the PhotoPost database. [$php_errormsg]". It also says "/home/fhlinux172/t/totaltorque.net/user/htdocs/photos/pp-inc.php on line 186" which is the path I've given it and that is, to my knowledge, correct.

Stuck.

If it says it can not connect to the Photopost database then the Photopost database information has to be wrong

Recheck the host username password and database name
