| Error with bulk move
I attempted to move all images in Designer > Designer Name Gallery to Members Gallery. I received the following error:
/home/digital/public_html/gallery/data/577/Holly.jpg -> /home/digital/public_html/gallery/data/500/Holly.jpg
Copy of the file failed. Operation cancelled.
I have checked to make sure that 577 and 500 are chmoded to 777, and they are.
I think the issue is because 500 already contains an image titled Holly.jpg.
Now... from this post: Bulk move assigned wrong photo to wrong person Part II
I downloaded and ran the fixdupes.php file, and it only found and fixed 3 dupes, but obviously, it didn't do what it was suppose to. Since there are *no* instructions what so ever with this file, I assumed that it needed to go in the main gallery folder and ran from /gallery/fixdup.php. If this is not correct, please post correct instructions on how to run it so it scans all the data folders.
What do I do next?

I can not comment since I did not write that little tool but yes that is what your suppose to do. Run the file from your photopost directory. You can then try rerunning the script and then the bulk move.

Well then how about you go talk to the person who wrote the code and get an answer that solves the problem. See, that would be my next step in the chain of technical support.
It doesn't matter how many times you run the script. It doesn't do anything. The first time it was run, it found and fixed 3 duplicates, that is all. However, there are more duplicates in folders, which has now made bulk move useless.
I'm beyond tired of having to deal with bulk move issues. I'm the one who told you folks about the move bug (which I was told could NEVER happen, and had to do all the leg work to prove that it COULD happen and DOES happen)
With both sites combined, we have over 60,000 photos, and honestly, this issue should not even be here. I'm tired of being told "It's fixed" only to find out that no, it's not, and I just overwrote hundreds of photos. It's not just happening in our galleries.. just ran into the issue on a totally nother website not long ago.

I think I pretty much covered it in the post where I said that I do not warranty it and that while it worked on my setup your results may vary.
The logic seems clear and unless you have files in directories that are "orphaned" and not a dupe of another photo in the actual database, there isn't any reason it shouldn't work. If you have orphaned files in directories, this utility will not clean those up.

We have categories that need to be removed from our gallery. We must move all images that are inside that category to the Members Gallery, otherwise images are deleted all together. Deleting a category does not, by default, automatically move the photos from Category A to Members Gallery. It deletes them.
The image that caused this error in the first place is NOT an orphan. It is right here. http://digitalfreebies.com/gallery/s...php/photo/4964
It is in data/577. It needs to be moved to data/500. It will not do so because there is already a holly.jpg in data/500. If I try to move it, it states:
/home/digital/public_html/gallery/data/577/Holly.jpg -> /home/digital/public_html/gallery/data/500/Holly.jpg
Copy of the file failed. Operation cancelled.
This is an issue with Photopost, and I need a fix for it. The fixdupe.php that you have provided as a fix does not work. Until you do, the software will not move ANY photo that is the category, instead it renders the above error, making bulk move pointless and worthless.
If this is happening on this site, I know darn well it will be happening on others as well. Please provide a fix.

To fine tune this further... Quote:
/home/digital/public_html/gallery/data/525/d2D-carnivale-aidan-PRV.jpg -> /home/digital/public_html/gallery/data/500/d2D-carnivale-aidan-PRV.jpg
Copy of the file failed. Operation cancelled.
| Gallery we want it removed from: http://digitalfreebies.com/gallery/s...php/photo/2939
However, when I search through this person's Member Gallery, the only reference for it is the one that is in the data/525
But since there is no way for me to easily search the gallery to make sure that there truly isn't another file titled the same, I can't say that the one in 500 is truly an orphan or not.

First off, you need to chill out. I'm more than happy to work with you on this, but be professional about it.
Yes, you have shown that 577/Holly.jpg exists; but does 500/Holly.jpg exist as a separate image in the database as well?

Do you have access to the database via phpmyadmin to run a query to check? Assuming it is an orphan, you can delete the file itself from your server and try the move again.

It is not an orphan
Holly.jpg that exists in 577 http://digitalfreebies.com/gallery/s...php/photo/4964
Holly.jpg that exists in 500 http://digitalfreebies.com/gallery/s...p/photo/13235/
In regards to being professional. I thought the same thing about you folks when I posted about the bulk move issue in the first place... the one where I was told that there was no way the issue could happen. The one where I watched Photopost tech support make no move to even test it out themselves. The one where I had to go to Chuck's website and put it right in his face before he actually took my post seriously. You know.. where in the next release, there was a bug fix. "Working with the person" hasn't been something I've experienced in the past.

Well, you've proven it's a problem, but I don't have an immediate fix for you. I will have to revisit the other script and see how it might need to be changed.

I've rewritten the code here using different logic to detect dupes and run it on my site and found 52 more files that had a same name.
As before, I make no warranty of the script and you should make backups of your database and files before running this (I've only run it on one large site).
You upload this to your main photopost directory and run it in your browser - any changes will be displayed in the output.
[This script will rename files that it finds dupes for, but it will not effect the link to the showphoto pages.]

Thank you for the quick fix. There were 498 duplicate files in our gallery.

Okay and do you have a pp_photos table?
I would think you need to change the table prefix in that little script

Hi Chuck,
When it was originally installed the prefix was ppost, however there is no underbar to separate the field name. In other words my photos field is named
ppostphotos
I am not sure what to change in the script to have run correctly. Code: Content visible to verified customers only.
Thanks
Rick
